Chapter 2: A Day of Fun
Walking through the fair, Zoey and the teens were chatting and catching up from their time apart.
"Give me that." Jenna snagged the card a blonde girl handed to Hunter, "You won't need it."
"What was that?" Shane asked, "I mean, she just walked up to him, handed him the card, blew him a kiss and sauntered off. And yes, I know what saunter means."
"That was a barracuda." Zoey was munching on a corn dog, "We went to school with her. And she got around. If you catch my meaning. Known her since we were kids."
"Yeah, she has a reputation. And that card was literally her calling card. Phone number and address. Not her home address. She has a special place for all of her meetings."
"Wow." Tori shook her head, "I don't think I've ever met anyone like that."
"She's one of a kind."
"Check it out!" Dustin called from a booth ahead of them, holding up a Yellow Ninja Ranger doll, "Dude, I am so getting one of these."
"Dude, they have the whole team." Shane started going though the booth, "Look, they have large weapon replicas and Zords."
"I want the whole set." Blake nodded, "I can display them at the house or put it in my room at the Academy. What do you think?"
"I'm right there with you on that one, bro." The rest of the group gathered around and found their toy counterparts. When they left, they each bought the box-sets of the Rangers themselves, box-sets of the Zords and large replicas of their weapons.
They were sitting on picnic tables, eating ice cream, and catching up, "Just FYI, for those of you who still work with her, Kelly knows." The Fire Ninja smirked as she looked around, knowing she was getting looks of shock.
"Just to be clear, what does Kelly know?" Hunter leaned, looking alarmed.
"Kelly is Kimberly's cousin. When she was trying out for the middle school cheerleading team, she was kidnapped by Rita's goons. She was rescued by the Power Rangers, of course, but something about it always seemed off to her. It wasn't until after the invasion that she approached Kim about it. Told her that she figured out everything. That's why Tommy and Jason felt comfortable with us going to Blue Bay and working for her."
Seeing the incredulous looks being exchanged by their friends, Jenna started to laugh. Hard. "Seriously?" She waved a hand in front of her face, "How do you think you were able to get away with leaving work so much? The Portico Island incident? Leaving the Actions Games without telling her? Any other boss would have fired your sorry asses."
"I don't believe this." Blake shook his head, muttering, "After all this time, why are we just now learning about this? Do you know how much easier it could have been on us?"
