The killer, or accused killer to be accurate, seats on the other side of the table. He is cuffed, hands and feet, with the wrist cuffs also fastened to the table. The detectives sit across from him. The atmosphere is tense. No one is speaking and the recording device is only picking up silence. They had been told what the guard witnessed and decided to bring in for another interview. But, so far, he was mute.“Look, the guard said you were agitated last night.” He just stares at them before dropping his head down on the table. “We just want to help.”
This brings a sound, a giggle. He then looks up. “Help? You have me locked away and took my toy.” Both detectives tighten up at the victim being called that but, both are to professional to react beyond that. “You want to help, find who was watching me. Someone was. Yes, as I was cutting her, shaping her, someone was watching. Ah, you know who.” His voice turns sing song and sends a chill down the back of both veteran detectives. “He told on me, didn’t he? Yes he did. I will find him. I will. Tattle tales must be punished. I will find him!” His voice gets louder and losses it’s childlike tone, “Find him and make him my newest toy.”
They have him taken back to his cell and put word in that their psychiatrist needs to examine him.
“We need to warn Saul.” The other notes and they head out, to the library.
