The pillow beneath my head is soft and I open my eyes, rolling over in the bed.
“Mae,” I hear Harry, his body walking towards me.
“Why do you keep fainting?” he asks, my hand covering my forehead.
“I faint at overbearing news,” I say.
He sits on the side of the bed, my eyes flickering to look at him. He has a shirt on now, the white material allowing his arms to be completely tan. He shoved the sleeves to his elbows and it’s tight on his torso. Why is he so attractive?
“That’s…unfortunate,” he says, my lips curving.
“It is,” I slightly laugh, my body sitting up. His lips are still in a straight line and I rub my eye, knowing he doesn’t like to be happy.
“Do you want something to eat?” he asks, my head nodding. He grabs my arm and helps me stand, leading me out of his room and into the kitchen.
“My mother and sister have left for the weekend to get groceries and clothes for you. I got some earlier,” he says, my eyes seeing my bag on the couch.
“Thanks,” I say, still nervous about staying here. I’m not allowed to leave.
“You’ll be able to leave. Just…not alone,” Harry says, my eyes looking at him.
“What?” Did I say that out loud?
“You don’t know what you said?” He looks at me as if I have three eyes but I shake my head, telling him I thought I said it in my head.
He nods and starts making something on the stove, his body moving to sit beside me.
“Do you know what happened to my friends?” I ask, his eyes locking on mine.
“A wolf from your father’s pack killed them. I killed the wolf and brought you here,” he explains, getting up to hand me a mug of tea.
“Why aren’t you in a pack?” I ask, his lips pursing.
“They were killed in an accident. They were in a fire and didn’t make it out,” he explains, my hand grabbing his lightly.
“I’m sorry,” I whisper, his eyes dead set on our hands. I let go quickly and he looks at me, not knowing how to react.
“It doesn’t matter. I’m a pack-less Alpha,” he says, my hands moving my hair to the top of my head.
“Then why do people from the other pack keep coming to you?” I ask, his lips pouting.
“You have to understand that your father is ruthless and most of his pack wants out. Dean, his father, your father and his mate are the four strongest members and everyone else hates it. I have six wolves, Zayn, Louis, Liam, Niall, Andy, and Ed that are on my side in an alliance.”
I nod and he sighs. “The reason you can’t leave is because your father has wolves all around this forest that will take you to his camp for him to keep you,” he says, my eyes looking at him.
“Why would that be bad?” I ask, his eyebrows furrowing together.
“Because you’re my mate!” he nearly yells, my body shying away from him. He sighs, my fingers letting go of the mug.
“Sorry,” he mutters, my head nodding.
“They capture you, it’s over. I will never see you or protect you because he will lock you up in a room. It’s sick but if any part of you is wolf and wakes up, he loses everything. Because I’m an Alpha, you’re what’s called a Luna,” he says, my head nodding.
