Headmaster's POV (surprise!)

I had just walked my usual route trough the gardens and back into the school to my office as I felt a sharp stinging pain, it subsided but then occurred again. I rushed to the hall where I already saw Chiron looking even more gloomy and worried then usual.

"Miss, the barrier there has been a disrup-", I held up my hand and continued walking outside.

"Yes I felt it it, who are missing from the students? There should be two of them.", I said in a rather cold voice unlike my usual cheerful self.

I heard Chiron mumble a curse in Greek and I was tempted to call him a hypocrite, but that urge faded as soon as we looked at the schoolbook (the schoolbook shows who is not at school property or in the dorms, it changes everyday and it's managed by administration goblins).

"Daniel d'Anjou, the merman, and Nathan McCarthy ,the shapeshifter miss."

I thought for a moment, the woods are dangerous and if they were to be captured or harmed then I don't think I could bare the guilt, me being their headmistress and protector. I thought of a way to at least locate them for now.

I walked to the edge of the woods with Chiron at my side. I concentrated and put my hand on a big oak tree, I felt the earth, the plants, the smallest and biggest animals all running around and then concentrated on all that was not supposed to be in the woods, three hunters their footsteps trotted heavily  and smugly trough the forest, they were dragging a net behind them. I felt a rage come over me as they had captured a young tree naiad.

"Those filthy humans don't know when to stop! I've had enough, they will not hurt my forests or nature any longer, I'll teach them a lesson they will remember!", I raised my hands just as I heard Chiron warn me.

"Although I don't like them, no hate them, miss, you should still consider the consequences if the humans or gods were to find out about your actions against the hunters..."

"Don't worry, it's against my very nature to harm any living creature, and unfortunately humans apply to that rule." And with that I unleashed my punishment.

I made the soil under the hunters feet sink and let the roots of the trees grab their ankles, I dragged them further down under my newly created swamp. They desperately tried to grab nearby branches but I let them hover just out of reach. I suddenly felt a hand on my arm.

"That's enough, please. Persephone! Do you wish to send them to their graves?!"

That ran a shock trough my body, I let the roots slip loose and solidified the ground, the hunters saw their chance and ran off, leaving the young naiad to escape to her own freedom but not before she said a short prayer of thanks to me.

I knew I had been.. childish by not letting them out, but I never actually hurt them, just made them panic. Let alone harmed them enough to send them to my hubbie, Hades! I sighed and recollected my thoughts roaming the woods for the lost boys.

"I've found them, I'll go and would you-"

"Miss! you know I can't let you do that, I will track them down and bring them home safely. please my lady trust me on this.." Chiron bowed his head and I knew he had no other choice so I agreed.

"I'll make you a guide but please hurry! I fear that Daniel is harmed and Nathan is very unstable his footsteps are faltering."

I picked up a green and orange leaf and blew gently on it, the leaf turned into a big green bird with orange wings and belly, I stroked his wings and whistled a sharp tune. I knew the bird would take Chiron to the boys, but I hated not being able to do anything..

I whistled a higher tune and a small hummingbird landed on my hand, I asked him to get the nurse for me and send him away with another whistle. I focused for the last time and tried to make a path for the boys and Chiron, turning stones and fallen trees into moss and flowers.

I knew it wasn't much but it was all I could.. no.. was allowed to do on my probation on earth.
