(Egao's POV)

I've been a vigilante for about a year now. I've turned 13 a while ago too. Eraserhead hasn't caught me yet, and he seems pretty pissed about it.

Right now, I was on my patrol. I was looking around for Eraserhead, since he'd usually come around this time to catch me. I was jumping roof to roof looking down at every alley I'd pass, looking for any thugs or villains.

I grew confused when I saw a little girl running through an alleyway. "What's a kid doing running in an alleyway in the night..." I whispered to myself. She had long curly hair with a mix of blue and grey. Her eyes were big and red, but looking at them again you can see the expression of fear and panic in them. The girl had a small horn sticking out of her forehead and looked like she was at least in the age of 5-7.

The small girl then ran out of the alley and bumped into a civilian who was walking past. The civilian spotted the small girl and went on to check her. I carefully watched as the man helped the girl up, still staying cautious. I noticed there was some kind of white cloth wrapped around her arms and legs, but soon realised they were bandages. It looked like the man who helped her get up, noticed the bandages as well, judging by the worried expression on his face.

"Hey are you okay? What's wrong?" The man asked the girl. I was getting worried and concerned, seeing her looking left-to-right and shaking. It was like she was waiting for something to jump out and take her.

"P-p..please.. I-I don't w-w-wanna go b-back..." She spoke through tears. The man knelt down and hugged the girl and asked again what was wrong, but still she wouldn't answer. All she did was cry and shake in the man's arms.

"Are you lost? Did you get separated from your parents?" The man asked. The girl wasn't answering just crying as she repeated the words "please" or "I don't wanna go back." The man looked worried yet in question, like he was wondering what to do.

"I'm not sure what's wrong but... I'll call the cops. I'm sure they'll be able to help you" The man said as he pulled out his phone.

Just as it looked like he was about to call the cops another figure came walking out of the alley. The girl turned around and not a second later, she was silently breaking down into tears while shaking and hyperventilating. I noticed her grasp on the man's shirt tightened and her eyes grew in fear.

The man had short brown hair and golden-like eyes. He was wearing a jacket, coated with purple feathers along the hood area, and had on a strange bird-like mask. This definitely wasn't something a regular civilian would've worn, and I doubt he's a hero either. I could feel the unpleasant aura he was giving off and I didn't like it, and neither did the small girl which made me more worried. Was she running... from this man?

"Ah, Eri there you are! I was worried sick" The bird-masked man spoke.

Eri? Is that her name?

"Are you her guardian?" The civilian who was hugging the now known "Eri" asked.

"Oh, yes I actually am" The man said. He turned to the girl and knelt down to face her, which the girl turned around immediately. The man put his hands through the girl's hairs strands, as the girl flinched.

"You shouldn't run off like that you know.. It's really dangerous" The man said.

Seeing this, the civilian pulled Eri closer to himself and away from the bird-masked man, feeling uneasy.

"I didn't get your name..." The civilian man said, eyeing the other male.

"Kai Chisaki, but you can call me Overhaul " He started. "Now, i'm sure you can already tell, but it's getting late and it's way past my daughter's bedtime. My wife will be... quiet frustrated seeing we aren't home yet " Overhaul said, as the girl shook at his words. You could hear the menacing intent in his words.
