Chapter 2: Stuck With You

"Woah..." was all I could reply with. Their story was a lot to take in. But for some reason I couldn't help but think about was how stupid their enemies name was, Eggman. I couldn't help but grin at that.

Suddenly, everyone's watches started blaring and beeping. They seemed to shift their faces into a more serious one and I watched them go into fighting positions.

"Gang, Egghead is attacking Mobius again. Let's go!" In a split of a second, the whole team burst through the door. Sonic was about to do so before he turned back around and looked at me.

"Stay put, Y/N. We'll be back." Sonic sped through the door. I was still getting used to all their super powers and I was in awe at how fast Sonic just left. I stared at the emptiness of the room for a few seconds before turning back around and enjoying the peace.

About 2 hours later, everyone came back bursting through the door. I was slightly annoyed. I was enjoying the quiet and now I had to deal with their loud asses, but my thoughts were interrupted when everyone seemed to be looking at Shadow.

"Argh! I'm fine, faker! Stop bothering me!" Shadow spoke up, clearly agitated.

"Fine? You nearly died!" Rogue yelled. They all walked over to the couch and continued yelling at each other. I noticed Shadow looked pretty beat up, he had cuts and bruises and he seemed to be holding onto his bandaged right arm.

"I am the ultimate life form! I do not die." Shadow growled. Cocky much? I rolled my eyes and continued to observe.

"Sit down, Shadow. We need to take care of that injury." Knuckles chimed in. Shadow let out a huff before he sat down on the other end of the couch.

They talked about their mission for a few minutes while they bandaged Shadow. He seemed to be angry, like always. But the rest of them were kind towards me and they even apologized for leaving me. I didn't mind them leaving, in fact I enjoyed it. I kind of wish they left again...

"Alright. Now that Shadow's taken care of we should all get some rest." Amy hovered over me.

"I don't need sleep." Shadow mumbled.

"Sleep anyway." Knuckles said in a somewhat scary tone.

"Okay everyone, let's all go to bed and let Y/N rest. We can meet back here tomorrow." Sonic stared back at me as he spoke.

"I agree. Let's go Shadow." Rogue gestured Shadow to follow him which he did. Grumbling of course, the two made their way out the door and left us with the rest of the group.

"Goodnight everyone! Sleep well Miss Y/N." Cream chirped.

"Goodnight, Cream and Cheese." I waved as they walked out shortly after.

"See you tomorrow, everyone." Knuckles said before exiting.

"Wait, where am I sleeping?" I looked back at Sonic, Amy, and Tails.

"You can sleep at our place." Tails spoke up.

"Yeah, I only have one bed. Sorry, Y/N." Amy apologized. "Anyways, goodnight Soniku~" Amy cheered flirtatiously. I looked back at Sonic who only seemed just as freaked out as me.

"Night, Ames..." he sighed. I started uncontrollably laughing, Sonic and Tails only looked at me with curiosity.

"What?" Sonic questioned.

"I'm just surprised there's so many couples here." I broke from my laughter. They only seemed more confused.

"Amy is NOT my girlfriend." Sonic nearly yelled. Tails chuckled before walking up the stairs and waving.

"Well, goodnight Y/N."

"Night, Sonic."

It was about 9 AM, when everyone came back again. I was still sleeping and sadly their loudness had woken me up. I definitely was not a morning person but I made my way over to the kitchen to see what all the commotion was about.

"Good morning, Y/N." Sonic greeted as he handed out breakfast to everyone. They all seemed to be eating, except Shadow. I only rolled my eyes, an 'ultimate lifeform' thing.

"Morning..." I yawned again. Sonic chuckled lightly and handed me a plate of breakfast.

"Do you guys always eat together..?" I sat down next to Tails and looked around at all of them.

"Yeah. Is that not normal where you come from?" Amy asked, everyone seemed to be curious.

"No...?"

"Well, guess you better get used to our company!" Sonic chuckled, earning a quiet groan from me. I'm going to be stuck with these idiots 24/7. Shadow seemed to take notice in my frustration and smirked. The hell is he so amused for? He's always grumpy.

"Aw, c'mon Y/N. We aren't that bad." Sonic spoke up once again.

"Whatever makes you sleep at night..." I muttered. Sonic didn't seem to hear it and I certainly hoped no one else had. Sadly, the evil grin on Shadow's face told me otherwise.

"So we thought today we should try and get you to use your powers." Amy turned over to me.

"Okay...how do we do that?"

"We aren't exactly sure, hun. But we'll figure it out." Oh, so she calls everyone that. Strange...

I heard multiple bleeps going off and immediately recognized it was another warning from everyone's watches.

"Egghead is attacking again!" Tails yelled.

"I'm on it." Shadow sat up, but shortly after was pushed back down by Rogue.

"No, you're staying here. Someone should watch Y/N." WHAT?! Why do I need to be watched now?!

"No...I'm good-" I was rudely interrupted by Mr. Grumpy.

"I'm not a damn babysitter! I'm the ultimate lifeform! Im going-" This time Rogue interrupted Shadow's little rant.

"You're injured, Shadow. You are staying." Her tone was actually quite scary and Shadow sat back down and huffed.

"Does Eggman attack everyday?" I asked as everyone started preparing themselves.

"Pretty much. We'll be back soon guys. Shadow, stay put. Y/N, make sure he stays put." Sonic stated. More like I'm babysitting you. I rolled my eyes and gave him a thumbs up. Sonic nodded and everyone ran out the door. Leaving me alone with the emo hedgehog...

"Well, I'm going to try and use my powers...you do you, I guess." I walked over to the doorway and walked outside. Just as I was about to take off, I felt another tug on my wrist.

"I'm coming with you." I twirled around and was met with crimson red eyes glaring at me. Sheesh, does he always look so unhappy?

"No thanks." I tried pulling away but couldn't.

"You don't even know how to activate your powers." Shadow let go of my wrist, crossing his arms.

"So? Neither do you."

"I know more than you do."

"Why should I trust you? You brought me to this hellhole!"

"Hellhole?" He chuckled. "That's a good one." I glared back at him.

"I'm supposed to babysit you anyway. It's not your choice." Shadow's smirk faded.

"More like I'm babysitting you..." I mumbled.

"What was that?"

"Nothing. Fine. Where do we begin." Shadow rolled his eyes and grabbed my hand. I was about to pull away when suddenly he pulled me in closer. Nearly touching his chest fur, he wrapped his arm around my figure.

"What the hell are you doi-"

"CHAOS CONTROL!"
