Chapter 2

Bright or Josh neither of them arrange any meeting with each other beforehand. For Bright it seems really strange to meet his future husband outside the day he is signing a marriage contract. The day of their meeting at lawyer's he told himself that he doesn't care, and if he keeps telling himself that it's no big deal then he'll be fine. Mr Vincent enter in the waiting area. Josh Father, Mr Vincent looks exactly like he does in every picture on business magazine. Bright had seen him in events and functions, too old to still be running a company like this. He wonders why he hasn't passed it on to Josh yet or if he was waiting for some poor unfortunate soul to come along and marry his son before handing over his business.

Mr Vincent took Bright hand in his saying "Bright My dear. It's lovely to meet you. How are you doing today?". Bright smile back replying "Mr Vincent
it's lovely to meet you too. Where's Josh?". He ignores the question about how he is, Vincent doesn't really care about that he knows. Mr Vincent answered Bright "He's just parking the car, he'll be up in just a moment". Bright nods, he's not sure why he suddenly started feeling nervous for this meet. Bright got silent and Pam takes over the talking with Mr Vincent. Between the two oldies Bright suddenly felt like a child who is being dragged along to one of his parents boring function. He shrink back against the wall in his best day dress, his mother had choosen for him saying he had to make his first impression really good and not to look too formal neither too casual. Bright felt everything a bit stupid standing here all dressed up for someone that will like him or not, they have no choice but to marry each other.

After few minutes Josh comes in, Bright has seen pictures of him. Josh is good, 10 years older than him. He reminds himself that he doesn't have to like him, he just has to tolerate him. Josh takes Bright hand in his saying "Bright I'm sorry it took so long for us to meet". He repeat the action just the way his father did. If he met him before he probably wouldn't be doing this. Bright responded hurriedly "Well we're here now. Are we still waiting for the lawyer?".

Mr Vincent said "Yes dear Win, said he's just finishing some things up. He'll be here shortly. He's well accredited in...these areas. He's worth waiting for just to assure this all goes smoothly". Bright nods with slight smile, he realises he may have sounded hastily . Bright replied "Of course" and smiles tightly. He sat down in the waiting room, Josh sits two seats away from him. Pam and Vincent continue talking about the contract but Bright was not really listening anything. Josh got busy on his phone, and all Bright did was look around and hope this goddamn lawyer hurries the hell up.

There's a gold plate on the door engraved with the name, Win Metawin. Bright thought, probably an old and stuffy looking man who loves seeing miserable arranged marriages. How does one even specialise in arranged marriages? Did he enjoyed making one for himself as well. He's not going to ask but it's just really strange for a profession. Bright shrug his thoughts about the lawyer and started tapping his foot he really wish the lawyer to hurry the hell up so that he could get over with the feeling of being miserable and just then the door to Win Metawin office opens. There's came a man tall, fair and very good looking not that Bright is supposed to be looking him for that with wide eyes. But he was looking him because he was totally opposite of what he was expecting Ohh maybe he's the assistant.

Win gave his little bashful smile still professional saying "Sorry for the delay ..If you'd all like to come through". Bright stands and follows Pam and Vincent through. Josh step to the side to let Bright go through first. How very chivalrous of him. Four plush chairs were waiting for them and Bright has no choice but to sit next to Josh. Not that he should be opposed to it, he's about to marry him or soon at least. There's no one else in the office so Bright assume the pretty face must be the lawyer himself and not any assistant.

Win opens the binder on his desk saying "Right" he then slipped his round glasses on. Fuck This is... This is the damn exact reason why Bright wants to get married, because he's infatuated by pretty looking men who look like they'd break his heart without a second thought. Win started "So, We're here to go through the contract between Mr Bright Vachirawit and Mr Josh Vincent. The contract will bind the two of you in matrimony, completing the union of the merge of Vachirawit and Vincent's. If agreed to then the contract is valid for twenty five years, anything outside of that timeframe will make the contract void and will leave you open to a lawsuit by the other party. Although children are expected not having children will not make the union void".

This goes on and on Win keep telling him all the ways he could possibly open himself up to a lawsuit in the next twenty five years. It gets overwhelming at some point for Bright. He was unable to pinpoint the exact moment when he lost the track. He was feeling uncomfortable, heavy and awful at the moment. Win ask pulling Bright out of his minor breakdown "Bright, are you alright?". Bright blinks back few times at Win then said "I'm sorry. I was just a little overwhelmed, could I have a moment?". Win smile and said "Of course, take all the time you need. Would you like to step outside for a minute?". Bright shook his head and assured "I'm fine, could I just have a copy to read through it?".

Win nods and passes Bright a copy of the contract with a concerned look, Win knew Bright doesn't pay any attention to the contract he recited then Win passes the copy to Josh and their parents one too. At least now Bright has something to look at, and now it's sinking in better way when he can read everything by himself.

There's nothing on there that he would like to change, maybe the time frame of 25 years but that's something that's been decided without his opinion or input. He doesn't think they'll agree to change it now for him. It's ONLY 25 years though, he'll be 47, that's not too much of an age. He'll still have some life left to live his life to the fullest. Best case scenario will be if they don't terminate the contract and they stay married just as long. Worst case scenario would be if Josh death looks like a tragic accident then he has to wear black for a few months or so. He looks good and hot in black so it wouldn't be the worst thing.

Win ask to everyone but his eyes were pointed on Bright's the most "Do you need a moment to think it through about the contract?" Bright glanced at everyone, he frankly can't see anything that he would change in the contract, possibly if he could change the Husband itself but maybe be worse....his mother would be marrying him to Vincent then. Bright looks at his mother and Pam subtly nods her head telling his son to do it. They've made it this far, why back out now? Bright looks at Josh to see if he got anything to say but he doesn't appear to, no objections on his part infact he's again busy on his phone so Bright guesses for him all that's left to do is to sign his marriage contract and get over it in 25 years.

Bright then look at Win who was staring him but Bright shrug it "I'm fine with it. And happy to go ahead". Perhaps happy isn't the best of phrases but there's nothing really which Bright could oppose. Josh also confirm "I'm happy to go ahead with it". And Bright supposes that's that for the day. They'll have a ceremony of course the big white wedding to show off their money and merger of two companies to everyone they know. They let the world know just how powerful they're about to become. That's what this is about, Power. Now Vincent will retire and Josh will take over the company, they'll be the power couples of all power couples in the circle for next couple of years. Just like his parents were, they'll probably have a child an heir to their dynasty and that will be all. Bright realize Win was still looking at him, He doesn't think the lawyer eyes have left him for more than a couple of minute at a time. Now he understands it's really a good job. Bright just hope, he would never see the pretty face man again after today, because if he does he could probably fall for him in a heartbeat.
