(After the death of Johnny and Dally)
Dear Ponyboy,
I'm sorry about what happened. Johnny and Dally were good kids. No one as young as you or younger should have had the experience of death so many times in such a short period of time, or at all for that matters. Stay the way you are, Pony. Watch those beautiful sunsets of yours. Who knows, maybe Cherry will be watching with you on the other side of town. Don't listen to what Darry or even Soda says about who you are. Be the person that you think you should be. Follow your heart, your dreams, your desires. They will lead you the right way. It could take you to college, get you a job, even bring on marriage. It will bring new times, new places, and new people. Be who you are and you will be just fine. It will take time just like every other thing like talking and walking. Do not become someone you're not because of the past. Remember it, but don't let it change you. Stay who you are. Stay gold.
Sincerely,
Serethiel
