You knew you were probably being dramatic and this was some big misunderstanding that Rodrick could clear up. But thinking rationally was for later. Right now, you were better off crying into your pillow and wishing you hadn't been so stupid.
Well not stupid but so trusting. Because of course Rodrick would tell his friends what happened. He was a teenage boy for god' sake. It didn't matter that you were friends or that you'd know each other for years, it was clear now Rodrick was a different person.
The kind of person you couldn't trust.

Rodrick stared at his phone, puzzled. One moment you were in your little bubble where he'd left you, and the next you were gone. Deciding to go through the garage of all places and leaving. He knew you lived close, so he wasn't worried about you getting home. But was worried on why you left so suddenly.
On the opposite side of the phone, a few houses down, you were feeling the same way. Confused. You'd read Rodrick's message when he first sent it hours ago, but had no courage to respond. As if you could even think of a response.
Instead of thinking about it, you pushed the thoughts away and forced yourself not to focus on it. If you didn't, you be crying yourself to sleep. Which ultimately you did.
The morning after a hard cry, you usually feel one of two ways. Rejuvenated or Completely distraught. By your family's reaction to you this morning, you had your answer.
"Damn, what happened to you." Your brother grimaced, earning him a hard glare from your mom.
"What's wrong, baby, you look a lil swollen today." Your dad says, trying to not be rude.
You remain silent, giving him an unamused look.
"Baby, if you not feeling good, you can stay home."
Your mom spoke sincerely. It was one of the few times she actually let you stay at home. You should have taken the opportunity when you had the chance, but sadly you declined.
You whined, stepping out of the car before shielding your eyes. Since school had just started, it was still considerably warm outside. Normally you'd be wearing something that showed some skin, but today you were too exhausted to put in any effort. You went with a simple pair of jeans and a hoodie. A black hoodie specifically. Which you'd only realize once you were at school was the one Rodrick gave you at the hotel.
Most of your day is relatively calm. You'd made a reputation for yourself as someone who wanted to be left alone. So all you had to deal with small conversations. That was until fourth period, the class you had with Rodrick.
Naturally, he tried to talk to you. You ignored all of his advances until the end of the day.
"Well, if you're not gonna talk to me, could I at least get the answers."
This was his last resort to get you to speak to him, and as he planned, it worked.
"Are you kidding me? You really think, after ignoring you all day, I'd give you my answers."
You walked off in a huff, Not giving him time to follow behind you. You moved at a determined pace in the crowded hallway. Passing your locker without stopping. Deciding you were too upset to stop walking.
