PAST
A bunch of guys were lying on the floor, their face so bruised, swelled, and bloody they were barely recognizable. A light blond boy dressed in a black uniform was standing in the middle of the pool of unconscious guys. He was whipping his hand clean, getting the blood off of it. Sitting on a fence was a group of boys dressed in the same uniform, sniggering at the beaten up men on the floor.
"Sei-kun...," the blond boy heard.
He turned and sad a brunette girl standing a few feet away. Her face was distorted with worry and disbelief. Seishu Inui sighed.
"What are you doing here, Saki?" Seishu asked, his voice stoic.
"Who's that Inupi? Your wifey?" One of the boys smirked. "She's kinda cute,"
"Fuck off," the blond boy only said, walking to the girl.
"Still as kind as ever," another boy sniggered.
"Nii-chan told me you joined the Black Dragons," Sakiko quietly said. Seishu said nothing.
It was so strange. It had been weeks since they had seen each other, yet Sakiko felt like he was a whole other person. He was no near the kind boy she was friend with. His face was cold and held no expression. His aura was hostile. He was different. He was changed.
"Why have you stopped coming to the shop?" Sakiko then asked, saddened.
"I've been busy," Inupi only said.
"Beating up people?"
"That's what gangs do,"
"Not Shin-san's gang," Sakiko countered. "The Black Dragons are different,"
"If you came only to tell me this, you better leave," Inupi only said. "I don't think these guys would be pleased to hear you talk so highly of their gang,"
"Wait!"
Inupi was about to leave but Sakiko grabbed his wrist. The boy looked back at her, a visible annoyed expression on his face.
"We're still friends, aren't we?" Sakiko asked, worried. "You said... you said you would teach me how to ride a motorbike. How about we meet this Saturday. We could also-"
"Saki," Inupi cut off. "Go home,"
Sakiko clenched her jaw as a lump formed in her throat.
"And don't ever come again,"
The grip of Sakiko around Inupi's wrist loosen until it completely disappeared. The boy turned away and eventually left with his fellow gang members. That day was the last time Sakiko and Seishu talked.
PRESENT
The month passed quite quickly and Christmas was already there. Sakiko spent most of her time with Mikey when she was not at school of course. They were each other's pillars. They needed each other. Mikey was doing better, going a step at a time. This blank period of non-conflict played a good role as well. Toman fought no other gang so he had no pressure on his shoulders. He could focus on himself. Finally.Though, Sakiko could not say the same about herself. It was Christmas, meaning it would be the day Hakkai would try to kill Taiju. A lot of things were at stake on that day. It was supposed to be a joyful and festive day, but Sakiko was hardly cheery. How could she after knowing what was about to happen? Or after not knowing what could happen? She was incredibly stressed and anxious. She didn't doubt Takemichi's ability to reach Hakkai's heart. However, she highly doubted Kisaki and Hanma's trust. And the Black Dragon. They were unreadable variables, unpredictable factors. They could screw everything up. And Taiju was a beast. If they fight him, she feared the worse.
