I walk past the vampires. I find a seat at a table. Larten sits by me. I remember something Vanez said to me.
"Larten..... can I ask you something?" I didn't look at him.
"Of course. " he leans his arms on the table, tilting his head slightly.
"Well, I was talking to one of the other vampires and I was telling him how we met and....." I pause to try to keep from rambling, "Anyway, I was wondering if..... when you feed from me would you describe my blood as....  addictive?"
I look up at him, his cheeks had turned a light shade of red. He sat up and cleared his throat. He seemed to avoid eye contact with me as he scratched his scar.
"Yes, actually. I was planning on waiting till we knew each other a little better before I told you. I assume the vampire you talked to told you what that means?"
I shake my head, "They just said that I should ask you about it."
"I see.  Well....." he pauses "do you want me to tell you what that means?"
"Is it something bad or something good?"
"That really depends on how you feel about it....." he smiles awkwardly.
I raise an eyebrow, "what..... what does it mean?" I ask hesitantly.
"It means....." he breathes out "we are... soulmates."
My eyes grow wide, my heart beat quickens, and I feel my face heat up with a bright red blush. The table suddenly becomes very interesting.
"You're um..... sure about this?" My voice squeaks.
"If I am being honest, I'm not entirely sure. I do not think I believe in soulmates." He says "however, there is a tale about a vampire. He traveled the world in search of his one true love. He did not know exactly how to find them, or how he would know it was them. He came across Desmond Tiny and asked for help. At first Desmond refused, but then he told the vampire that he would give every vampire a human soulmate. He told him that he would know who was his soulmate by the taste of the human's blood. He did this in hopes that the vampire would lose control and kill their human love."
  "Did he?"
Larten shakes his head, "Perhaps if he was a vampaneze, he might have drained his love dry. I think he was lucky he was a vampire because when he fed from his soulmate he knew when to stop."
  "Soulmates....." I mutter.
I touch my neck where he fed from me last time. I knew there was a light, barely visible mark there. My whole face felt warm from blushing.
"I know I am not exactly the most attractive vampire ever...." Larten starts "but I....."
He stopped himself. He looked like he was thinking something over. He also almost looked.... sad. Usually I'm terrible at reading expressions, but it's almost like I could feel what he was feeling.
  "Larten.... are you okay?"
He put on a smile, "I feel so uncertain about what I want to say. I am usually very certain about my words."
"I feel uncertain all the time." I chuckle.
I reach into my pocket and pull out the paper Mr. Tall had given me. I opened it up. It was blank for a moment. Then words started to appear. They were fuzzy at first, but soon became clear. I knew what I had to do.
"Larten..... I think I...." I sigh, now it was my turn to be uncertain about my words.
Larten looked at me. He looked around at the vampires roaming the main area of the mountain.
"I think I know what the problem is." He stands up and extends his hand to me "we need some privacy."
I take his hand and he leads me to our room. Once we get in he closes the door. I look down at our hands still intertwined. I blush more than I was before.
"Larten I like you." I say.
The words just seemed to spill from my mouth. There was no thinking. I quickly cover my mouth wondering if I actually said that outloud. I look up at Larten who looks suprised. His expression softens though and he smiles.
He turns to face me completely. He releases my hand and rests his hands on my shoulders. I look down at the ground, my brain going a thousand miles an hour. I just prayed he'd let me down gently.
His hand moves to my chin and he tilts my head up. I look up at him. Without a second of hesitation he pulls me close and our lips touch. I gasp, my hands resting on his chest. His arms wrap around me. I let my body relax, and deepen the kiss by wrapping my arms around his neck. The kiss only lasts a moment or two, but while we were locked together the world seemed to slow down.

Eventually he pulled away. He got a mischievious look on his face. He scooped me up, carrying me bridal style and walked me over to one of coffins.
He set me down inside the coffin. He stood over me, and untied his cape. He let the red fabric fall onto the ground. He kicked off his shoes before climbing into the coffin, his legs straddling mine.
"You are mine~" he practically purred In my ear, making goosebumps spread across my body.
I blush deeply. I had no idea how much I wanted to hear him say that until he said it. He kisses my neck and bites on it gently. I wanted so badly for him to mark up my skin with hickies, but I didn't want to be weird about it.
He shifts his body so now my legs are straddling his. He pulls me down closer to him, now my back and head lying down against the bottom of the coffin. I squeak. I must have looked like a deer caught in the headlights, cause he asks me if I'm alright. I simply nod.
"We can stop now if you wish, I apologize if I am moving too fast."
"No, no. I'm sorry I'm so awkward, I'm just...... not use to this kind of thing. "
"You have absolutely nothing to apologize for." He says softly.
"Sorry it's just a force of habit to apologize for everything.... there I go again, sorry... shit sorry....sor.."
I go quiet as Larten kisses me. He pulls away after a moment. I sigh.
"You might have been apologizing forever if I did not do anything " he jokes.
"Can we..... go back to.... what we were doing?" I fidget with the bottom of my shirt.
  "Of course." He smiles.
