I sat up quickly, with a gasp. My body shook. I looked around realizing I was back at Evanna's. I took a few deep breaths. Evanna walked in with Larten and Vancha.
"What was that?" I ask.
"It got rid of your problem. You're no longer pregnant." Evanna says, "however I would be careful, you two." she pointed from me to Larten.
"We should head out soon." Vancha states, "we're losing moonlight."
"Please, sleep here for the day." Evanna says.
"But the vampaneze lord....." Vancha mutters.
"Will still be around by tomorrow. Angelica needs rest, and so do both of you."
"Evanna, what was that?" I ask again.
"Later." She says in a soft voice.
She shows us where we would be sleeping. She placed Larten and I in different areas. I rested in the main living area. No matter how hard I tried though I couldn't sleep. I sat up and sighed. I couldn't get the image of Larten dying out of my head.
"Having a hard time sleeping?" I look over and see Evanna walk over.
I nod, "what happened? When I passed out I saw...."
"The future." She finished for me.
My heart sinks slightly, "w.... what? Evanna is.... Larten going to die?"
She nods solemnly. I look away, covering my mouth. I shake my head.
"I...is there any way to prevent it?!" I ask as tears lace the bottom of my eyes.
"Unfortunately not." She sits by me, placing a hand on my shoulder, "however.... there might be a way to bring him back."
"H....how?" I mutter.
She shakes her head, "that's not for me to say."
"Why not?" I ask.
"I don't interfere with the events of the future." She pauses, "I will say this though. Pay attention to those around you. They'll be able to help you get Larten back."
I nod. "I should try to get some sleep."
"That you should. Rest well." She stands up and walks out. I lay down and after a bit more tossing and turning I managed to fall asleep.
