"Gracie, come on you need to get dressed!" Stefan exclaims chasing his daughter round her bedroom as she giggles. "I don't wanna go school wit you. It boring!" Gracelynn tells he dad. Stefan finally grabs her and puts her over his shoulder "I know you don't want to but you have to. It's either school with me or you stay here with Zach." he tells her. "Booo!" Gracie whines. Stefan chuckles "Come on, I'll let you choose the music." he tells her. "Bon Jovi!" Gracie grins. "Bon Jovi it is, but only if you get dressed and promise to behave at school." Stefan smiles. "Otay Daddy." Gracie nods with a smile.

Gracie holds her dad's hand as they stand in the school office "Your records are incomplete. You're missing immunization records, and we do insist on transcripts." the secretary tells Stefan. "Please look again. I'm sure everything you need is there." Stefan compels her. "Well, you're right. So it is." she smiles before going and sorting out the paperwork he needs. As she does Stefan crouches down to face his daughter "Okay what do you need to remember?" he asks. "Stay by you, make sure my necklace stays on and don't use my powers." Gracie responds. Stefan nod and picks her up as he stands "Thank you." he tells the secretary as he takes his timetable and other paper work. "You're welcome." she responds.
Stefan carries Gracie out the office and walks down the corridor, bumping into a brunette who walks out the men's bathroom as the pass "Uh, pardon me. Um... is this the men's room?" Stefan asks her confused. "Yes. Um, I was just, Um- I was just- It's a long story..." she trails off. Gracie looks at her in confusion, realising she looks like Katherine, the vampire who turned her dad "Thank you." the girl says as Stefan moves out the way for her to pass. Gracie looks at her dad "Come on Princess, history first." he tells her, making her nod and rest her head on his shoulder as he walks. They make it to the classroom and Stefan finds a desk, sitting Gracie underneath it with her colouring book "Once our home state of Virginia joined confederacy in 1861, it created a tremendous amount of tension within the state. People in Virginia's northwest region had different ideals than those from the traditional deep south. Then Virginia divided in 1863 with the northwest region joining the union." Mr Tanner says, Gracie tuning him out as she colours.
