Gracie runs out her bedroom and into her dad's, climbing onto his bed and jumping up and down "Wake up daddy!" she giggles. Stefan smiles and grabs her, pulling her to lie next to him before tickling her "Aaah! Daddy!" she squeals. Smiling Stefan stops tickling her and kisses her head "You sleep well?" he asks. "Uh huh, had a dream about a unicorn!" Gracie responds. "You did, wow! Come on let's go get you dressed and you can tell me all about this dream." Stefan tells her.

Gracie sits under the table colouring as her dad sits in history class "Originally discovered nearly 5 centuries ago, it hasn't been over Mystic Falls in over 145 years. Now, the comet will be its brightest right after dusk during tomorrow's celebration. Are we bothering you, Mr. Salvatore? Ms. Gilbert?" Tanner asks. Gracie looks up to see her dad and Elena stop looking at each other.

After class Stefan picks up Gracie and carries her into the hallway where they catch up with Elena "I brought it. Told you." he tells Elena, handing her a book. "Wuthering Heights by Ellis Bell. You know, I can't believe she didn't use her real name." Elena says reading the front. "All the Bronte sisters used pseudonyms. It was the time. Female writers weren't very accepted then." Stefan tells her. "Where did you get it?" Elena asks. "Uh, it was passed down. Through the family. I have lots of books. Go ahead. Keep it." Stefan tells her. "Oh, no. I... but I would like to read it again. I promise I'll give it back." Elena responds. "Ok." Stefan nods. Gracie smiles at Elena who smiles back "Hi Gracie." she greets. Gracie waves before they split off for class.

Later on Gracie sits with her dad outside the school before he picks her up "Come on, I got something I need to do. You need to stay with Zach while I do." he tells her. "Otay Daddy." Gracie responds. Stefan smiles "We'll have ice cream when I get back for being good today." he says. "Yay! Chocolate?" she asks him. "I'll get some chocolate ice cream on the way home." Stefan agrees.

Gracie sits on the sofa playing with her teddy when Elena walks in "Stefan? Stefan?" she call A crow flies into the house making Elena turn to see Damon standing there "I... I'm sorry for barging in. The door was... open." she apologises. Gracie smiles and climbs off the sofa before running over to Elena "You must be Elena. I'm Damon, Stefan's brother." Damon introduces. "He didn't tell me he had a brother." Elena remarks, picking Gracie up "Hi Gracie." she smiles. "Hi Elena." Gracie smiles back. "Well, Stefan's not one to brag. Please, come. I'm sure Stefan will be along any second." Damon tells Elena. "Wow. This is your living room?" Elena asks walking in. "Living room, parlor, Sotheby's auction. It's a little kitschy for my taste. I see why my brother's so smitten. It's about time. For a while there, I never thought he'd get over the last one. Nearly destroyed him." Damon says making Gracie glare at her Uncle. "The last one?" Elena asks. "Yeah. Katherine, his girlfriend? Oh, you two haven't had the awkward exes conversation yet." Damon fakes awkwardness. "Nope." Elena shakes her head. "Oops. Well, I'm sure it'll come up now. Or maybe he didn't want to tell you because he didn't want you to think he was on the rebound. We all know how those relationships end." Damon says. Gracie leans into Elena "You say it like every relationship is doomed to end." Elena frowns. "I'm a fatalist. Hello, Stefan." Damon says making Gracie look up and see her dad stood behind her and Elena.
