Gracie runs into her dad's room and jumps on his bed "Up! Up! Up!" she giggles. Stefan chuckles and grabs her, pulling her down next to him "What you doing up Princess?" he asks, brushing her hair out her face. "No sleepy anymore." Gracie tells him. Stefan smiles and kisses her head "Come one, let's get you dressed and fed." he tells her, sitting up. Gracie grins "Waffles!" she exclaims. "Only if you get dressed quickly." Stefan responds. Eyes widening Gracie scoots off his bed and runs to her room, Stefan following her with a smile on his face.

Once the father daughter duo arrive at outside the school Stefan carries Gracie over to Elena and Bonnie , putting her down and holding her hand "Good morning, Elena. Good morning, Bonnie." Stefan greets. "Hey, um, I gotta find Caroline. She's not answering her phone. So I'll see you guys later." Bonnie says, quickly leaving. "Bonnie, wait..." Elena trails off as Bonnie disappears from view. "She doesn't like me very much." Stefan states. "She doesn't know you. She's my best friend. She's just looking out for me. But when she does, she will love you. Here's what we're going to do. Are you free tonight?" Elena asks him. "Yes." Stefan responds. "Perfect. Dinner, my house. 8:00. You, me, Gracie and Bonnie. You two will spend some quality time and she'll get to see what a great guy you are. Mission accomplished." Elena smiles. A ball suddenly flies towards Stefan's head making him turn and catch it before throwing it back to Tyler, Elena laughs as Tyler and Matt stare in shock. Gracie giggles and swings on her dad's hand as they walk into the school with Elena "That throw was insane. I didn't know you played football." Elena tells him. "I used to. It was a long time ago." Stefan responds. "So why don't you try out for the team?" Elena suggests. "Yeah, I don't think so." he tells her.

"So you don't like football?" Elena asks in confusion. "No, I love football. I think it's a great sport. But in this case, I don't think football likes me. You saw Tyler over there, and we both know how Matt feels." Stefan explains. "They don't know you. To them, you're mysterious loner guy. Wouldn't hurt to be part of. Make some friends." Elena smiles. "Says the girl who spends her alone time writing in a cemetery." Stefan counters playfully. "Hey, come on. There's more to me than just gloomy graveyard girl. There's a whole other Elena that you have yet to meet. She was into everything, very busy." Elena tells him. "Well, I look forward to meeting her. And when will that be?" Stefan asks. "Soon. She's working on it." Elena responds. Gracie smiles and takes Elena's hand instead of her dad's "Can I meet her too?" she asks. "Of course you can." Elena smiles as they walk into history. Gracie sits under her dad's desk as Mr Tanner begins teaching "World war II ended in... Anyone got anything? Miss Juan? 1945." Mr Tanner sighs. "Psst. FYI...Our team sucks. They could use you." Elena whispers to Stefan. "Can't, I'm a loner." Stefan whispers back. "Miss Gilbert?" Mr Tanner asks. "Hmm?" Elena responds. "Pearl Harbor?" Tannr asks her. "Um..." Elena trails off. "December 7, 1941." Stefan tells Tanner. "Thank you, Miss Gilbert." Tanner says sarcastically. "Anytime." Stefan responds just as sarcastically.

"Very well. The fall of the Berlin wall." Tanner tells him. "1989. I'm good with dates, sir." Stefan explains. "Are you? How good? Keep it to the year. Civil Rights Act." Tanner tells him. "1964." Stefan responds. "John F. Kennedy assassination." Tanner tries. "1963." Stefan tells him. "Martin Luther King." Tanner asks. "'68." Stefan says. "Lincoln." Tanner tells him. "1865." Stefan responds. "Roe vs. Wade." the teacher asks getting competitive. "1973." Stefan responds, keeping the same tone the whole time. "Brown vs. Board." Tanner tries. "1954." Stefan tells him. "The battle of Gettysburg." Tanner asks. "1863." Stefan responds. "Korean war." Tanner asks him. "1950 to 1953." Stefan says. "Ha! It ended in '52." Tanner grins. "Uh, actually, sir, it was '53." Stefan tells him. "Look it up, somebody. Quickly." Tanner orders. "It was 19...53." a boy responds, looking it up on his phone and making the room clap as Gracie tries to conceal her giggle. The class soon ends and Gracie sits on her dad's hip as they talk to Elena in the hallway  "How did you know all of that?" Elena asks, talking about Stefan knowing all the dates. "Years and years of crossword puzzles. It's a loner thing." Stefan tells her, jokingly. Gracie smiles and rests her head on her dad's shoulder, trying to ignore her thirst around the amount of humans in the packed corridor.
