The next day Kanan went to school. Lucky summer vacation started after today. "Kanan, you shouldn't go into our classroom just go to the student council room, please." Dia said, "I have to. My parents are forcing me to...." Kanan said, walking to their classroom and seeing the copycat, "How dare you to show your face!" Kanan yelled, "You killed my sister!!!!!!!" Mari 2.0 yelled, "Shut up!!!!!" Kanan yelled, "You hated my sister. You did this!!!!!" Mari 2.0 yelled as Kanan charged at her, but Dia held her back. "Just go to a different classroom and help the teacher," Dia said. "Fine!" Kanan yelled, leaving the classroom and going to the second-year classroom, "I suggest you don't say anything about Mari!" Dia yelled.
"Matsuura-San, what are you doing here?" The teacher asked, "It's safer for the copycat!" Kanan said, "Oh, you mean Ohara-San!" The teacher said, "She's not Ohara Mari. There's only one, and she's not her!" Kanan yelled, "What do you mean? Of course? She's Ohara Mari. Why would you say that when you know, it's not true..." The teacher said, "She's a copycat. The real Ohara Mari died in a plane crash two years ago over the ocean. I watched my best friend die!" Kanan said, leaving going into the clubroom "Kanan...." Chika said.
Kanan started having flashbacks about their first year of high school. "Mari...." Kanan said, sitting down as tears streamed down her face. "I should have stopped. I should have come back..." Kanan said as she decided that she was going to stop eating. It would be a simple way to join Mari. "I'll see you soon, Mari...I love you. Wait for me." Kanan cried.
Kanan stayed in the club room for the first two classes. "Kanan!!!!" Chika said, "Mari shouldn't be replaced....." Kanan said as the copycat came into the club room. "Get out of here!!!!!" Kanan yelled, "You don't deserve these!" Mari 2.0 said, holding Kanan's photo Album that Mari got Kanan for her birthday. "Don't please, that's the last thing she gave to me, please don't....." Kanan said, "Too bad," Mari 2.0 said as she burned the photo album. "No!!!!!" Kanan screamed as her last thing from Mari was destroyed in front of her, and Kanan lost it and charged at Mari 2.0, and Dia held Kanan back. "I'm taking you to the nurse's office," Dia said, taking Kanan to the nurse's office and explaining what had happened. "She'll be safe here." The nurse said as Dia laid Kanan down, extremely worried about her friend "Mari...." Kanan cried, holding her chest. "I want to be with Mari...." Kanan cried, "I can't lose you too, Kanan...." Dia said, "This is the last time anyone will see me....." Kanan said as she left and went home and broke down.
At lunch, Dia found out Kanan had left. "Dia-San, where's Kanan?" Chika asked, "She left. I have a bad feeling about this...She was saying I want to be with Mari...." Dia said, "Kanan doesn't have anything left of Mari-San's that was keeping her somewhat okay, but now I don't think anything we do can fix the emptiness she feels..." You said, "I could try one thing, something I've been dreading telling her..." Chika said as she called Kanan and Kanan answered, and Chika stepped inside. "Kanan, I need to tell you something, but first I'm really sorry about the photo album. I know how much you treasured that, and now it is gone, I know you want to be with her, but I need you...My dad something happened I found him unconscious...." Chika said, "Mito and Shima called me a few minutes ago and told me I'll come back to school to give you a hug." Kanan said, hanging up.
Kanan got back to school and went up to the roof, and hugged Chika. "I won't. Mari wouldn't want me to...I know how much this will affect all of you if I do that, so I'm not." Kanan said. Mari 2.0 came on the roof, "I want to join Aqours!" Mari 2.0 said, "We have nine members, sorry." Kanan said, "I only see eight." Mari 2.0 said, "Mari is the ninth member whether she is physically here or not." Kanan said "Seems like she hates you!" Mari 2.0 yelled, "Mari loves me, and I love her. I will always love her." Kanan said, going to the first-year classroom, knowing no one was there. "If only I could hug you like I did that day, I would never let you go...." Kanan said as the teacher came in, "Matsuura-San, I haven't seen you since...." The first-year teacher said, "This is one of the few places we were together. I miss her, but I'll be gone after lunch is over." Kanan said, "You can come in here anytime you want." The first-year teacher said as Kanan nodded then left.
It was around seven o'clock at night. Kanan was standing where she used to stand, and she had a flashlight in her hand but turned to the water and stared at the middle of the ocean. "I love you, Mari...." Kanan said going home but started having a panic attack and tried to calm down and eventually calmed down, going to her room and changed into her nightclothes, and got in bed. "Mari, goodnight. I love you....." Kanan said as she fell asleep but immediately woke up from a nightmare, "You don't hate me, I know you don't...." Kanan said, trying to silence the voices in her head as she called Dia. "Kanan, what's wrong? Why are you up this late?" Dia asked, "I need you to tell me Mari doesn't hate me...." Kanan said, "Mari loves you, Kanan. Don't listen to that copycat...." Dia said, "My head doesn't believe you, Dia...." Kanan said, "My head keeps telling me that Mari hates me, and I'll start to believe it, and that's not going to be good...." Kanan said, "She loves you, Kanan. We both know that." Dia said, "I'm sorry for waking you up. Go back to sleep goodnight, Dia." Kanan said as she hung up. Kanan kept repeating Mari Loves me to try and silence the voices. "That wasn't her choice...." Kanan said, "It's not my fault Mari doesn't hate me." Kanan said not sleeping at all that night.
