Your heart is just about ready to jump out of your throat at the sight of the gigantic tank barreling in your direction. The pebbles on the ground near your feet are flailing around, the lizards that had gotten brave enough to approach your feet are now skittering into any crevice they could hide in.
The tank is rumbling closer and closer to your hiding spot.
"Need a weapon, need a weapon..." you laugh nonsensically, right eye twitiching, nerves frayed. You scour the area around you. Nothing but rocks and dust as far as the eye can see. You pick up a fist-sized rock and clutch it against your chest.
You won't go down without a fight! ...A pathetic fight!
As the giant tank pulls next to the crash site of the helicopter, you scrunch yourself into the shape of the boulder you're hiding behind but stay ready to attack with your ... rock ... if necessary.
Crap, you really are gonna die on your first day.
The tank finally rolls to a stop. You watch as two shadowy figures hop out of its hatch and approach the burning debris. They're talking to each other, but they're too far away for you to make out their conversation.
One has their hands on their hips and seems to be explaining the situation to the other, who is slouched over slightly.
You narrow your eyes at them both. These had to be the enemy soldiers your dad's been fighting against for so long. You weren't expecting to meet them, especially not this soon. What should you do?
Hmmm .... You consider trying to steal their tank, but immediately decide against it. Too bold, girl! You wouldn't know the first thing to do inside a tank.
You don't have to wonder what to do for very long, because before you know it, one of the figures is heading in your direction.
You make a little "eep" noise as the figure that had been doing the explaining begins making its way towards your rocky hiding spot. You duck back behind the boulder so you won't be spotted.
"Captain, where are you goin'? Aren't we gonna loot this copter?" the other figure calls out.
"In a sec, Steve," the figure that's walking towards you calls back to his companion, "I gotta take a leak before we get back on the road, and that shadowy rock pile over there is calling my name."
Had one of them said "Captain"? So they were enemy soldiers! This really isn't looking good for you.
You squeeze your rock tighter and shut your eyes, listening to the sound of footsteps getting gradually closer and closer to you.
Crunch ... crunch ... crunch ......... Pisssssssss....
Is ... Is he peeing near you? Sure enough, he was peeing over the boulder you were hiding behind and it was hitting the ground not even two feet from you. Gross ... But also an opportune time for a rock attack!
You jump out with your held rock with a battle cry. The soldier spins towards you, screaming just as loudly.
"Ahhhh!"
"Ahhhh-ewwww!" Your battle cry turns into a cry of dismay as pee shoots from the figure right in your direction. "Gross, dude, oh my gosh!" you squeal.
You scramble backwards to avoid being sprayed and fall. You hit the back of your head on one of the orange rocks and immediately feel dizzy ....
The last thing you see before your vision fades away are two men dressed in familiar military garb standing over you and looking concerned.
