Journey's Through Starfire - Book 1

Faith.

Zara lets them in and then they all sit around and stare at one another.

"Zara...what's on your mind?" Zoren asks

Zara doesn't answer, instead she looks down at the ground. The guys all look at her and then at one another.

"Zara? Is something wrong?" Draiten asks.

Zara bites her lip and her eyes start to burn as tears form. "I feel hurt after what Shadow said...it makes me want to join my father's army..."

"Zara, I know your hurt after what they had said to you, but joining your father may cause a lot more harm to everyone, including yourself." Titan says. "And it would tear me to pieces if you joined him.." Titan mumbles.

"I know, I know but Shadow obviously doesn't want me here.." Zara brings her knees up to her head and she lies her head against her knees. "I just want to be back home with my step-brothers and step-father. My step family has no idea what is going on and I miss them. A lot..."

"I haven't thought about that..." Zoren and Titan say quietly.

"Then why don't we go see them?" Draiten suggests. "If you want to see them, we can go see them."

"Wait, really? You guys would let me go see them??" Zara asks. "I mean you guys can come too if you want."

"Sure, why not. We can go, and we can take Sophie and Jake too." Draiten says.

"I'm for it." Zoren says.

"Same here." Titan agrees

"Then we leave in the morning." Zara says.

Zara stands up and hugs the guys. "Thank you guys so much."

"You're welcome." They say in unison.

Zoren and Zara stay up in the treehouse while Titan and Draiten go inside and Draiten packs up some clothes for himself, Jake and Sophie. And then they all go to sleep, All except Zara, who tosses and turns waiting for daylight to come, even though it won't come since the sun had just set about an hour ago.
