Saturday was a busy day, as Pepa's lighting struck numerous homes. Felix upset her by accidentally cleaning Casita's tiles with her favorite dress. Almost everyone in town got to work rebuilding. Both she and Camilo had missed the chance to meet by that point.
Sunday. Y/n spent the whole day cleaning and rearranging things in her room. Unlike any other day, she felt motivated and happy. The hangout still not getting off her mind. She placed the box that contained Camilo's letters on her bedside table, beside her mama's portrait.
" Yes mama, I kept his letters. " she giggled and kissed her portrait. People often say she's like her mother, both have bubbly personalities. " And you get to watch over them. I love you. " she placed it back down gently and went to the kitchen, drinking a glass of water.
" Mija can you get these at the market for me? " Y/n's father handed her with a list. She ran back to her room as excitement rose in her chest. Before heading out to the market, she braided her hair and wore a lovely red clip.
She looked for one person in particular among the crowd they haven't talked ever since that hangout, and there he was. He just finished his performance. " Camilo! " she called for him, chasing him as he walked towards his friends who gave her a dirty look. She stopped her tracks and they walked away. Maybe he didn't hear me. Is he ignoring me?
" Oi babosa, you okay? " Carlos ran towards her and smacked her head, earning a glare from her. " Yes. And since you're here, carry these for me. " she placed the bags down, walking away with a smirk on her lips.
" Buena Tarde señor. " he greeted Y/n's father whilst placing the bags down on the counter. " Hola mijo, how are things back at the Casita? " he says with a smile. And with that, they started conversing. Mainly on Carlos' gift, Y/n's dad is a big fan of his ability.
She dug into her pocket and pulled out Camilo's letter, which she hadn't had time to read owing to her tiredness. She can't say if it was a date, but she felt something burning. And it was only when she was with him that it flamed.
" Come to think of it, Y/n's turning 17 soon. Are you finally planning on courting her by then? " she overheard her father say from the kitchen. It wasn't something new; her father had been talking about her and Carlos' marriage since they were young. Carlos, he believes, can keep her safe and treat her well.
She shrugged and leaned back, taking a large sip from the orange juice she'd just made. Normally, as a response to this marriage issue, Carlos would deny or mock her, but " Sí señor. " She spewed her drink and felt pain in her nose and throat as a result of the sudden action. That's causing her to cough. Carlos rushed into the living room with a glass of water and patted her on the back.
" How many times do I have to tell you to drink slowly? " he scolds her. Y/n's father leaned against the doorframe, nodding in approval. She finally calmed down and they resumed their conversation. Before Carlos could see it, she slid the letter back into her pocket.
" Oh, Abuela told me to invite you guys over for dinner. " Carlos adds, and her mood brightens with excitement. " Sure, Y/n- " before her papa could say anything, she ran up to her room, slamming the door shut, and began searching through her closet.

" Y/n!!! " Isabela yells approaching her along with Dolores. The three ended up in a group hug. " So.. tell us everything! " Dolores shrieks and they drag her into a less crowded space. Those two mirror her of the siblings she never had. And as an only child, they stepped in to fill the void.
" Too bad Dolores isn't a girl who can tell us about their 'girl talk', huh? " Camilo jokes and walked towards Carlos who chuckled. " Nah, I love the thrill of finding those out by ourselves. " they leaned against the wall, sharing a toast as they watched them giggling and gossiping from a distance, their eyes fixed on one girl.
" For how long, Carlos? " Camilo asks, followed by a heavy sigh. Carlos shrugged and sipped his drink. " I don't know, perhaps never. " He smirked and finished his drink. Camilo scoffed, his patience had worn out, and he's not sane enough not to burst.
" I'm not yours to control, Carlos. Why am I even following you? " Camilo exclaims proudly as he brushes his curls away from his face with his free hand, while Carlos looks over at him with a puzzled expression.
" I've been patient for long enough and I've given you waaay too much freedom. " He paused, and Carlos' fists were hardened with impenetrable crystal, tension between the brothers filling the air. Camilo, on the other hand, remained calm. as though he isn't and isn't scared about the risks and danger that may come his way.
" It's time to claim what's mine. "
