" Seriously Alcaraz, how is that even? "
Camilo objected, yet she simply shrugged and led him to his balcony, where the moon was peeping forth. He waited anxiously for her next move, albeit he was perplexed as to why she had led him there.
" Y'know, I prefer the real you. No one else. Just the handsome ego-driven narcissist, Camilo Madrigal. " She murmured softly as she cupped his cheek, her thumb tracing his freckles. He shivered as he gulped, not sure if it was the chilly wind or the way her words impacted his heart.
Her hands reached down to capture his, guiding them to circle around her waist while hers wrapped around his neck. And then she swayed. They swayed underneath the dazzling moonlight to the loud yet delicate jazz and blues emanating from the plaza.
Everything had led up to this moment, just two teenagers in love. Dancing after a burst on a cold night. Both minds focused on how fascinating the moment was, oblivious of whether or not anybody noticed them. Staring into each other's eyes, falling ever so deeply that even though they drown, they wouldn't gasp for air.

" Y/n, where were you tonta? " Carlos ran up to her, who had just from Camilo's room and was walking towards the porch. They heard their families' loud muttering from afar and decided to split up so they wouldn't be caught.
" I don't know, maybe somewhere I wasn't alone. " She walked faster after finishing the sentence with a noticeable frown. She was still upset and overwhelmed after witnessing how he was treating his brother behind her back, behind everyone's backs.
If she hadn't been there to witness it all, she'd still be distrustful of Camilo's so-called mask, as Carlos had been telling her for years. That he just can not be trusted, befriended, or liked, and that Camilo mistreated him as they grew up.
It was the opposite all along.
But why?
" What's with the attitude? " He grasped her arm with aggravation in his voice, causing her to wince as his cold hardened-crystal fingers came in contact with her skin. He'd become more physically violent and his rage issues had worsened since he'd been working away from her presence. It was horrifying.
" Hermano, her hand. " Someone spoke from behind him. Carlos' grasp eased as Camilo jerked his hand away. " And now you're here, you always are. What does it have to take for you to stay away from her? " He snatched him up by the collar.
" Carlos! " She tried to get between them but couldn't because half of his body was already hardened. Dolores raced up the stairs, followed by Luisa, who separated both of her cousins. Her sole hands held them firmly and apart, making it impossible for them to go close to each other.
" Now I don't know what this new pointless fight is about, but Abuela is already furious with Mirabel. I don't want you two to add fuel to the fire. " she spoke firmly and both calmed down. She let go of them, giving both a glare before escorting everyone else inside the casita.
" You two better sort whatever this is. " Dolores whispered raspily, annoyed by both of them, and grabbed Y/n along with her as they approached Bruno who was on his way to his room. Before letting them in and closing the door behind them, the green-cloaked man flashed them a feeble smile. She followed them to the back of his room, confused as to why Dolores had pulled her to him.
" Now mija, I know you're wondering why I asked Dolores to bring you to me. " Bruno starts off, the gentleness in his voice reassured her and it eased her. They sat in the center of his room, which was mostly sand or salt.
" This has been troubling me for a while now and I didn't know how to tell you. I think now's the right time. " In his trembling palms, he held a green vision plate. He hesitated to tell her about the vision, fearing she'd believe the rumors about him as well, so she smiled sweetly at him, reassuring him that she wouldn't.
Her body stiffened and became frigid as a result of this. Her heart was pounding in her chest as she gained a good glimpse at Bruno's vision. It was a happy one, but something about it ached.
