3rd Person's POV

"Y-yeji?"

The girl slowly approached Yeji who's looking at the horizon. She told Chaer to bring her girl here for her to tell the price she had to pay. She knew it already after the weeks of her being weak up to the day she lost her wings.

She already stayed here, thinking about everything she had witnessed down there, the moment she got on earth, the moment she left and ruled hell, and the moment she came back to Ryujin. She needed two days for everything to sink in her system. While Ryujin just waited as she'd seen it coming.

She finally faced Ryujin, after letting out another sigh with her eyes still swollen from crying.

"Hey..." Ryujin said as she slowly cupped Yeji's face.

Yeji didn't say anything yet she closed her eyes and felt the warmth of Ryujin's hand on her face. She was all tired but with Ryujin's touch, she'd feel alive again.

"W-what happened, Yeddeong?" Ryujin asked again.

"Let's be together till the end, Ryuddaeng~" Yeji answered, finally. She smiled at Ryujin who's still confused with what's happening.

"I'm... I'm not the demon king anymore."

Yeji said that made Ryujin frown more.

"I've lost my immortality--" Ryujin didn't even let her finish.

She stepped back.

"What?!" Ryujin exclaimed being shocked about what Yeji told her.

"No, let me explain Ryu--"

"Is it because of me then? Another sacrifice Yeji?!" she was losing her cool so Yeji held both her arms and stared intensely at her.

"It's not your fault."

"Yeddeo--"

"Sshh, we can't do anything about it anymore Ryujin. And I deserve it..." she chuckled.

"Aren't you happy that i get to stay with you?" she said giving Ryujin a meaningful look.

Ryujin then looked down, trying to process everything.

"I am...of course but Yeji--"

She was so mad at herself feeling so useless. She couldn't do anything about it of course, she's a mere mortal. The two sighed and silence followed as they both waited for each other to speak.

"I'm sorry." Ryujin said.

Yeji's eyes widened and was about to talk when Ryujin stopped her and said,

"I know I'm part of the reasons...of you losing your power."

Yeji couldn't hold back her tears anymore. It was hard for her. They both sat down the floor with Ryujin caressing Yeji's back to comfort her. She's also in tears, as Yeji sacrificed a huge part of her for them to be together again.

*two days ago*

Chaeryeong brought Yeji to heaven as per the Demon King's request. All the angels were surprised to see the underworld's ruler step on to the gates of heaven. There she met him, as she made it clear how she'd choose the human she loves over anything.

Losing her wings was her punishment for letting out chaos in hell being the stubborn ruler she is.

But losing her powers completely is because of her breaking the deal they had about Ryujin. If she ever agreed to go back and rule again, she'll remain immortal but the cat-eyed demon didn't agreed for all she wanted to do now is live a normal life with Shin Ryujin. The once great Demon King is now a mortal.

Yeji's POV

"Yeji unnie--"

I wiped my tears when i heard Chaeryeong and looked at her. I still need something to do down there.

"Wait for me..." i said and kissed her forehead lightly.

She flew me back to hell together with Yuna. Hell needs a new ruler and there's only one heiress, Shin Yuna.

"Unnie..." she's all teary as she approached me.

"Don't cry, lil sis. We'll still see each other. You can go visit us and we'll meet when i die--" i chuckled while in tears as well.

It's funny how I'll go back in there when the time comes. Not just its ruler.

"Do better than me Yuna. Don't follow me being like this--" she gave me a chuckle.

She nodded. We embraced each other tighter. I hate to leave her alone but i know she'll handle it.

"Visit us next eclipse!" i said cheerfully trying to lighten up our mood.

Aaah, I've been crying too much already.

I've spent more hours together with Yuna and Chaeryeong till she said it's time for me to go back. I hugged Yuna once again before letting Chaeryeong carry me up back to earth.

"This is embarrassing..." i said as i started laughing.

Chaeryeong shyly laughed as well when she realized our situation. I'm glad she's Ryujin's guardian, I won't have to worry that much.

We just talked and talked till we reach Ryujin's house. She landed us carefully as Ryujin welcomed us with a warm smile on her face.

"Welcome home."
