3. Party

I called Gia letting her know that I was ready. Rue and her friends were giving us a ride to the party.

I see a car pull up and I open up the door to get in. "Hey Gia" I smiled while putting on my seatbelt. "Hey Scarlett. This is Jules, Kat, and Maddy" Gia introduced us all.

"Hey bitch!" Maddy spoke in a friendly tone. "Hi Scarlett" Kat smiled with a small wave. "Hey girl." Jules looked at me smiling.

On the way to the party Maddy began ranting about her ex Nate and ex best friend Cassie. Apparently Cassie slept with her Nate and now they hate each other. I honestly felt bad for Maddy. She was putting on the tough act but I could tell it hurt her.

If Gia did that to me i'd be livid. To be honest this is just another reason why I don't do relationships. I should make a list in my notes app.

We finally made it to the party and it was so loud. Music was blasting loudly on a speaker, lights were flashing, and people were dancing.

Rue and the girls left to do their thing leaving Gia and I to fend for ourselves. I didn't really mind though. Gia grabbed us a drink but after a few minutes she needed to pee so I walked around for a little.

As I was walking I saw Fez. He was talking to Rue on a couch. I looked around and my eyes landed on a pair of dark brown ones. I don't know if it was the alcohol but I mustered up enough confidence to approach him.

I took another sip of whatever I was drinking to calm my nerves. His eyes were on me the whole time I walked. He almost looked confused.

I sat down next to him. "Hi, I saw you at the gas station the other day with Rue and Gia and I just uh..wanted to say hi...I guess."

He started at me blankly. I mentally slapped myself for even coming up to him. After about 20 seconds of awkward silence I started turning around to leave, but before I could be spoke. "Yeah, I saw you. I was gonna say hi or somethin but I never got the chance."

I looked at him with a surprised look. I honestly didn't think he would talk to me. "Oh." I looked down.

"What's your name?" He looked at me with a smirk. "Scarlett." I replied timidly.

"I'm ashtray, but people call me Ash."

I smiled and said "Okay, Ash." he looked at me and we shared a small laugh.

We spoke for a while until he had to go do some "business" with Fez. Gia came out of the bathroom with a shocked expression. "Were you just talking to Ashtray?"

I looked at her with my head down trying not to smile. "Yeah, um he's actually really cool."

"Oh my gosh! My best friend just blushed!" She teased. "Shut up." I laughed.

Rue, Maddy, Kat, and Jules came outside where we were and told us it was time to go. I guess some guy had a seizure from the amount of drugs he was consuming? This party kind of sucked anyways so I was fine with leaving.

I got dropped off first and I said bye to the girls before leaving. When I walked into my house I was lightly scolded by my mom for being home too late. I apologized and she gave me a kiss goodnight.

I walked upstairs and got ready for bed. I was overwhelmingly exhausted. When I laid down I couldn't stop thinking about Ashtray. His name was different but it fit him in some weird way.

"Whatever." I thought to myself. I was just ready to get some sleep.
