IT'S THE YEAR 2052

IT'S THE YEAR 2052. The world survived a big pandemic, wars have taken place in several countries all around the world, the technology is developing day by day, things are getting faster and people are getting smarter.

With that superpowers have arisen.

The supernatural has always been with us, we just never saw it, never appreciate it, it has always been there, but people only believed in science.

For the last 30 years cases have been reported around the world, about children with special abilities, with so called superpowers. Some can light up a candle just by looking at it, some have the power to control water or wind, a few can make electricity come out of their fingertips and some can read minds. There are different types of supernatural powers and only about 5000 known cases across the world.

Jimin happens to be one of these few cases.

And he happens to be at a police department, waiting for someone to actually talk to him. He has been sitting on that uncomfortable chair for at least 15 minutes without anything happening.

Slowly he can feel his patience whittling away with every other minute passing. Moreover he wants to get rid of the cold metal around his wrists. If he just focus a little bit, he could be able to remove them by himself, but his mind is anything but focused.

This place, these peoples, he doesn't want to be here, he doesn't even know the reason for him being here, in the first place. Okay maybe he actually knows the reason why they brought him here, maybe because he slightly lost his control. Just slightly. No need to bring him here.

The black haired male sighs, while leaning back on the stupid chair. He has to wait for the chief deputy to come and talk about what happened and probably what is about to happen to him. Actually he really isn't in the mood to talk to anyone, but to get out of here as soon as possible, he probably has no other choice.

Since his 5th birthday he has been hiding from the outer world, he and his parents moved out of the big city to a smaller place, so that he won't have to be around too many people. Because he's dangerous, for himself as well as for others. His parents wanted him to have a normal life, one without judgement and suffering, one without fearful expressions on other people faces when looking at Jimin, one without sorrow and loneliness. Just a normal life. But till now it was anything but normal.

He always knew he is different and the people around him let him know that too. It's not easy, being different than the other kids. They will always pick on you and exclude you. But this is not affecting him anymore, he built a wall around himself and knows how to deal with the judge and fear of the people now. Jimin has gotten stronger over the years - at least mentally.

When his parents died, 1 year ago, he moved away from the small town into the big city, looking for a job and maybe even new life. But ever since he moved away, he is involved in trouble and problems. Bringing him to the exact same situation he is right now.

"Hello??" He shouts, raising his voice so that the officers would notice him. Even though he is sitting in an office made out of glass, with people passing by, no one seems to mind.

A frustrated sigh leaves his lips as he slams his hands on the metal table in front of him, creating two dents right there, where he slammed his fists. In the same moment, the glass door is being opened, making him flinch slightly and cover the two dents with his arms while he presses his lips together. Ops.

A short slim woman has entered the room, closing the door behind her before approaching the table in front of Jimin.

"Hello, I'm Chief Manobal. Park Jimin right?" The woman introduces herself, while sitting down in front of the black haired male. She has straight shoulder long hair and wears a white button up with a grey suit. She doesn't look like a police chief, she looks rather young to be one.

"Yeah Park Jimin." Jimin responds while eyeing her and trying to figure out what she must be thinking.

"You know why you are here?" She asks intertwining her fingers and leaning back on her chair.

Jimin shrugs, "Could be many reasons. You tell me."

She chuckles at his response, "Well firstly maybe because you crushed a police car as if it was a can of soda. Secondly because you have special abilities, once that are needed here."

Jimin snorts at her description of the small incident he caused, where no one got hurt of course. It was no big deal actually, at least for Jimin. Just him losing control over his powers, again.

"Listen Park Jimin, we are not your enemy. We are here to help-" She continues explaining but Jimin interrupts her by raising his handcuffed hands.

"Looks like enemy to me." He says while raising his brows, making her nod in result.

"I'm sure you can open them by yourself." The chief responds with a hard to describe smile on her lips. Now she is the one eyeing him, as if she is waiting for him to use his power to open the handcuffs.

"Well I could but they would probably explode in million pieces or crush my wrists or even both. So no I can't open them myself." Jimin says also leaning back and waiting for her to continue explaining him the reason he is here, or in the best case unlock the handcuffs and let him go. She decides to do both but without the 'let him go' part.

"Okay let's start over, without the sassiness." The chief says and Jimin gives in, if he cooperates he can leave earlier.

"So Park Jimin, you don't seem like you want to be our enemy and we don't want it either. We want to work with you. I want you to join our special SWAT unit." The woman continues explaining, making Jimin frown at her offer, "Don't say anything, let me explain first. We have a special unit called Bulletproof, they have different tasks, high risk task to be specific. Your abilities, your superpowers could be an important addition to our SWAT team."

Jimin tilts his head to the side, his silver colored eyes looking straight into hers, before leaning forward, "You do know that I can't control my fucking power, Chief?"

The Chief nods and leans forward as well, placing her elbows on the table and resting her chin on her hands. "I know, that's also part of our offer. We will help you to learn how to control your powers and then you can use them for the SWAT tasks. We will plan a special training for you, give you a place to sleep at the mansion, food, a salary, everything." She answers before making a short break, waiting for any reaction of the dark haired male.

Indeed, a smile creeps onto his lips, but it's not a happy one, it's a wry smile. He can't believe what the Chief is telling him. For once he is not being excluded from others or judged. They actually want him to be part of their stupid unit, so that they can use his powers for their best. It's paradox; the whole situation. But doesn't even sound that bad to Jimin.

"What do you think, Mr. Park?" The chief asks, waiting for his opinion about the offer she made, "It's a win win situation."

Jimin crosses his arms in front of his chest while leaning back on his chair, "Okay, deal."
