Reyhan was sitting silently in front of Hikmet. He was staring her in pain while the breakfast tray remained untouched. A lone tear escaped from Hikmet's eye when he saw her lost, lost the in dark. He still remember when he saw her for the first time She was small, very small. His heart fluttered with joy when his best friend gave him his new born girl to cuddle.

Reyhan was just a day old when Hikmet visited his best friend in Erzurum along with Cavidan and 6 years old Emir. He still remember how excitedly little Emir chirpped "my angel!" Emir may have forgotten that day but he did not. He knew, from the beginning, Reyhan and Emir were meant to be together. Fighting all the odds and fulfilling his best friend's last wish, he made Emir and Reyhan marry each other. He thought Emir will gradually fall for her and he was absolutely right in his thoughts. But he thought from Emir's perspective. He never saw through her eyes! Again a tear rolled down.

The marriage with Emir was never a fair decision for Reyhan. She married him because Hikmet played his emotional card! He thought they will fall for each other with time. But Reyhan had to suffer alone in their marriage. From day one, she had to face Emir's ignorance and Cavidan's wrath but she never complained. She remained silent and endured all. Every day Hikmet used to pray to God for their love to blossom which God fulfilled. Emir gradually noticed good in Reyhan and started to fall for her but when things became almost good, Reyhan decided to part ways.

He still couldn't digest the fact that Reyhan asked for divorce even after knowing his ailing health.

Flashback...

Hikmet just returned from hospital and was working on some pending projects in the office room when he heard a soft knock on the door. He smiled brightly on seeing his daughter in law there. He gestured her to come inside.

Reyhan slowly made her way to the table and served him his favourite tea.

Hikmet (smilingly) How did you know that I needed my favourite tea?

In reply, Reyhan just smiled. But her smile did not reached her eyes unlike other times and this alerted him.

Hikmet (worriedly): Reyhan, daughter, are you alright? Did Emir again misbehave with you? (Almost instantly and loudly) Emir... Emir...

Reyhan (stopping him): No, uncle! He is a good guy, he has done nothing...

Hikmet heard her with serious face. All his concentration was on her.

Reyhan: (after a long pause) Actually I am here to tell you something. I... I.. (closing her eyes, in one go) I want to divorce Emir.

Flashback ends...

Reyhan neither reasoned him nor he had enough courage to ask her. Asking for divorce was fair on her part, because the marriage really suffocated her. But her timing was little weird. He himself noticed how Emir started to fall for her and how she started to care for him a little more. Their brief eye-locking moments, their stealing each other's glances did not go unnoticed by him. He was happy, because God was finally answering his prayers. But her one decision changed everything.

One by one more tears escaped from his eyes and he couldn't wipe it off. Reyhan, who was lost in her own world, noticed his tears and couldn't control anymore. She held his palms and cried her heart out.
