It happened suddenly!

Chapter 18: Regrets

Reyhan froze on her spot as soon as she felt his intense gaze on her.

"This can't be happening!"

"He can't see me!"

Were the only words she could murmur under her breath before she found herself in his arms. Emir didn't wasted any more second and immediately engulfed her in his arms, just like a bird, who keeps his loved ones under his wings.

He inhaled deep, once, twice, thrice and then repeated the same, again and again, until he couldn't breathe without exhaling. He was not willing to exhale because he thought he might loose her scent, but no one can go against biology, so he exhaled only to inhale deep again!

Reyhan remained unmoved in his arms without uttering a word. She so wanted to hug him back. She so wanted to hid her face in his chest. She so wanted to cry and let her tears disappear in his shirt. She so wanted to inhale his wild musky fragrance deep but she couldn't. She just couldn't! Because if she dared to do so, Cemre's madness could land him in a big trouble!

Refusing her heart, she stayed there unmoved. She let him decide how long he could hold her. Because as per her agreement with Cemre, she can't get close to him but she never mentioned it that he can't touch her! So, using this loop hole in their agreement, she was ready to be in his arms as long as he could wish. Atleast she could remain in his arms anyway and for now, this was enough for her.

She closed her eyes to cherish every moment, every second. She breathed deep with him. Her heart followed his pace and started to beat in rhythm with him!

She gasped when she felt his hot breath on her nape. Red hue spreaded on her cheeks when she felt him rubbing his nose on her nape. She lived every moment as if she was living her whole life there. She submitted herself in his arms there.

Emir was too occupied in her. He could sense her every emotion which she was going through. He knew she liked it when he held her in his arms. He knew she gasped when he inhaled her. He knew her cheeks turned red when he nuzzled his nose on her nape!

He wanted to live there to the fullest. He wanted to time to stop there, so that he could keep her in his arms forever and never let her go. He wanted to be in that moment forever. But their moment was broken by the loud scream of milky mother.

"Emir!!!"

Uttered milky mother in complete shock. She never expected this kind of indecent behavior from him! Emir left Reyhan as soon as he heard her screaming while Reyhan immediately ran inside the kitchen. Milky mother came to him and by seeing her, Emir could sense that she was enraged!

Emir: (clarifyingly) Milky mother, listen to me once...

Milky mother: (cutting his sentence in between, angrily) What I am supposed to listen now? Is this the way to behave? How dare you touch a woman without her consent?

She said while pointing her index finger towards him.

Emir: (pleadingly) Please listen to me, milky mother. I didn't touched some random woman. She is Reyhan. My wife. Please try to understand.

Milky mother (almost instantly) No, she is a divorcee.She don't have any husband. (Crossing her arms in front of her chest) And most importantly, she is Hayat not Reyhan!

Emir: (Confusingly) What? Hayat? No, no, no, milky mother, there must be some confusion. She is Reyhan not Hayat! Let me bring her here. She will herself clarify it.

Saying so, he went hurriedly inside kitchen but she was not there. He searched here and there but no luck! Just then his eyes fell on the particular corner of the kitchen. There was a door, connecting the garden, which was open suggesting that she left from that door.

"She left me.... again...."

Was the only thing he could say under his breath before old lady barged into the kitchen.

Milky mother: (angrily) She was supposed to run away after all you had scared her enough! (In serious tone) I don't know where she went and I don't know if she will return back or not. (Worryingly) She has no relatives, no friends! She has nowhere to go. Don't know how will she manage.

Milky mother cried profusely for her while Emir silently stared at the kitchen door.

Emir was driving the car, all lost. He was lost in Reyhan's thought. His mind was occupied by her memories.

"Why she married me?"

"Why she pretended to love me?"

"Why she made me fall for her?"

"Why she cared for me?"

"And lastly why she left me?"

"If she was not in love with someone else then why did she let me believe those lies?"

"Why, why, why... just why??"

He cried.

"And I, like a fool, believed everything!"

"I believed her love!"

"I believed her care!"

"I believed her hatred!"

"And I believed those lies too!"

"I believed each and every lie!"

"How can I be so stupid?"

He applied sudden break and car came to a screezing halt. He angrily hit the steering with his hand and again cried.

"I, like a fool, believed everything!"

"If I would have investigated about her proclaimed childhood love, then she wouldn't had left."

"If I would have shown some maturity and met him in person before divorcing her, she would had a home to live in."

"Milky mother said, there is no one in this world to be called as hers. She has no place other than her house to live in!"

"She has no one... she has no one... she has no one...!"

He chanted while crying profusely. Tears were flowing nonstop from his eyes. He angrily slapped the steering wheel and suddenly get out of the car.

"I promised her the whole world, still she is alone!"

"She is alone because of me!"

"It's my fault that I divorced her!"

"It's my fault that she is in this condition!"

"And it's solely my duty to protect her!"

He thought determined while tears were still there in his eyes. Taking a deep breath, he accelerated the car only to get crashed next second!

Reyhan saw Milky mother in horror when she broke Emir's accident news to her.
