You know, I would've never thought I would have to cover spelling, of all subjects. Recently, I've discovered books with so many spelling errors I wanted to throw my iPad across the room. I saw a person one time spell "didn't" like "didient".
I truly hope that person was 5 years old.
Anyways, whether you use Wattpad as an app or website, BOTH COME WITH SPELL CHECK. So why not use it? If your response is, "I'm too lazy", then why are you writing a book in the first place if you don't even care to use spell check? I believe it's the WORST thing when you're reading a good book, then you stumble upon a simple misspelled word. My advice to you: use spell check, search the word, ask someone. These are the most simple errors that have an easy fix.
Number one important rule of good writing: NO TEXTING LINGO! It is THE MOST IRRITATING THING EVER. Really, who can understand a whole book written like:
"ugh bb im to tired rn so bye lol" (I just made that up it isn't really part of someone's book)
I have to say the ONLY time text lingo is okay is when you display a text to the reader, like from the following excerpt from my brain:
Janet glanced down at her phone, expecting a message from Jeremy any minute now. She really hoped he didn't forget. Suddenly, her phone buzzed and lit up. She read the following message in her head several times before believing it:
Hey bb, i was hangin out with Lilli 2 day. Srry
i cant attend ur bday party :(
And that, my readers, is why you should dump Jeremy and only use text lingo in an actual text.
