One of the hardest parts of a book is coming up with character names. You want the name to be easy to pronounce, but unique at the same time. This is where the Internet can solve your problem.

I found an AMAZING character name generator, and you can choose the names' origin (like Italian, French, mixture of both, etc...) and it's completely free. There are also good Setting, Plot, and many other different generators out there. My strategy of generators is taking screenshots of names I like, and mash a couple of names together to create the perfect name. On this one generator, you can choose first, last, and middle name if you want. Here is the link to the website:

You can change the settings of the name yourself, but I have it set to give a first and last name.

Now, guidelines for a name:
1. It must be easy to pronounce
2. It can't be too common of a name (such as Joe Smith, unless it somehow plays a part in your story)
3. It can't be something stupid and unrealistic (such as Joe McDoofusBrain, unless for some reason your story requires those names)
4. If you prefer to make up a name yourself, try to put vowels and consonants in the correct place (a bad name would be Jguli, because you need a vowel in order to make that pronounceable, something better would be Jugli)

And please, if you are writing about yourself and your life, DO NOT give out your own name, or any of your friends and family members. It's just a precautionary in case some stalker on Wattpad decides to find you. If you really want to put your name, try not to include your last name or make it up.
