Days had gone by and neither one of you had asked the other to sleep in the same bed. Neither of you knew how to go about nor if the other person actually wanted to, so you both let your fear of rejection get the best of you.

Wanda, however, feared more than rejection. With physical touch being her love language, she relished having someone close to her and couldn't have been more grateful that it was you. She jumped at the opportunity to hold you because she knew she needed it and was too tired to let this other fear take over. What was this fear you ask? She was scared of hurting you. She's scared of hurting anyone really, but having you so close means that she's more likely to hurt you if her unpredictable powers spiral out of control.

You've noticed Wanda avoiding you the past few days. She'd give you a quick smile before continuing wherever she was trying to go. You thought you had done something wrong or said something you shouldn't have said a few nights ago. You wish you could just ask her and talk through what was going on with her, but you decided to give her some space instead.

Wanda now thought you were avoiding her, which, in theory, you were, but for the right reasons. Wanda believed that you were scared of her and her powers, and didn't want to be as close as you two were a few days back. Both the fear of hurting you and you not wanting to be around her, or maybe even not trusting her, was eating Wanda up.

A few more days passed and you felt like you'd given Wanda enough space. You needed to talk to her. You needed her to tell you what the hell was going on.

It's nighttime now. You see her walking down the hall to her room and decide that now is your chance. You jog to catch up to her and are now walking beside her. Her gait starts to pick up, but you've had enough of this silent treatment bullshit. You take a step in front of her, cutting her off and forcing her to acknowledge your presence.

"Oh, hi, Y/n-"
"Is everything okay? Did I do something wrong?"
"No, no y- you didn't. I just... I'm sorry."
Your brows furrow and you frown, unsure as to why she would be sorry.
"What are you sorry for?" you ask and gently put your hand on her upper arm. She glances at it before making eye contact with you.
"I'm sorry for being scared."
"Being scared of what, Wands?"
She breaks eye contact momentarily and looks around trying to muster up the courage to tell you what's been on her mind.
"Being scared of hurting you." she finally says.
Your eyes widen a bit in surprise before they soften and your eyes find her hands. You motion toward them and ask, "may I?"
She nods.
You reach for her hands, your grasp gentle and soft. You can feel her being apprehensive but eventually, her hands and the rest of her body relax. You look up and her eyes meet yours, a soft gaze between you.
"There's nothing to be afraid of. You could never hurt me."
"That doesn't mean I'm still not scared."
"Well, I'm not scared, and I trust you, Wanda. It's okay to be scared, but you don't have to be, not with me."

You place her hands on your waist and wait a moment before you pull her into a hug. She holds you tighter than you expected but you just hold her even closer to you. There's that pull again that you felt after that night.

You back away, your arms resting loosely over her shoulders. "Do you wanna sleep in my room tonight?" She nods her head in response.

You keep one of your arms over her shoulder and move so you're standing beside her. You walk together to your room. You turn slightly to close your door and when you turn back, Wanda is standing in front of you, quite close actually.

Her hands rest on your waist as they did moments before and you can faintly feel her breath fan over your face, her lips parted. She moves closer to you, your eyes locked with hers.

You unconsciously begin to lean in, the gap between you two getting smaller and smaller. You then cup her face and the gap closes. Your lips find hers and they find a soothing and gentle rhythm. Kissing Wanda felt calming, it felt like home. Little did you know that she felt the same way.

She has wanted to kiss you for so long but was so afraid of what she or her magic might do that she refrained. She saw an opportunity to kiss you tonight and she took it. Your reassurance of her not needing to feel scared and both saying and showing that you trust her was what she needed to take that chance, and she doesn't regret it one bit.

You inevitably pull away with your hands still on her cheeks as your thumbs trace soft circles on her skin. Your eyes flutter open and you can't help but smile as you see her shimmering eyes staring right back at you. Her lips curl into a smile as well and you can feel her cheeks heating up under your palms.

You and Wanda get ready for bed and get under the covers, no need to question the kiss. Without thinking you roll over toward Wanda and hold her from behind. Your body just wants to be close to her and you can feel her trying to get impossibly closer to you, like two magnets attracting one another, a force. A force so strong nothing or no one could pull you two away from each other.

"Goodnight, Wanda."
"Goodnight, Y/n." She pulls your hand up to her lips and places a delicate kiss on it. She then cluthes it to her chest.
"Never let go of me," she says.
"I wouldn't dream it."
