Soulmate AU
You're getting recruited to the Avengers because you have extraordinary powers and exceptional fighting capabilities. This takes place shortly after AoU and you're unaware of some of the newer members.

[Outside the Avengers compound]

You go to knock on the main door to the compound, but it opens automatically and you walk in. Natasha had actually opened it for you as she was assigned to greet you and introduce you to the team. She does so, introducing herself to you, then leading you into the compound to meet the others.

As you walk in with her, you notice the colour green starting to fade. You start to worry that something is wrong, so you look at something that you know for sure is green, Natasha's eyes. You step in front of her, look into her eyes and they are in fact less saturated than when you originally saw them a few moments ago.

"Is something wrong?" She asks. "Yeah, kinda. The colour green is slowly fading from my vision and I don't know why." "Maybe you're soulmate is near." She smirks. "What?" "Your soulmate. You don't know?" You shake your head. She continues, "As you near your soulmate, the colour of their eyes starts to fade from your vision into greyscale, but when you lock eyes with them, the colour becomes vibrant again." "Oh, I didn't know that. I thought I was maybe going colourblind." Natasha chuckles at your statement and she leads you to the elevator.

While in the elevator you ask, "do you know anyone here that has green eyes?" "Well besides me, no. I'm not one to really examine the eye colours of the people I work with." "Fair," you respond while nodding your head.

Natasha brings you into the common room to meet a few of the Avengers. You take a look around and notice a few new members that you haven't heard of yet, which you whisper over to Natasha. She whispers back, "don't worry, I'll introduce them to you." She takes a step forwards and begins, "hey guys! We got a new recruit here, y/n." "Hi," you say with a small awkward wave. "That's Sam Wilson there. He's known as the Falcon." You smile at him and wave and he smiles back. "Vision is sitting at the table over there. He's a synthezoid created by Stark and Banner." You wave at him, but he continues reading the book in his hand. You slowly stop waving and notice the colour green seeming to fade even more when another voice chimes in, "Vis, say hi to the new recruit." "Oh, I'm terribly sorry. Hello and welcome." He smiles at you and then goes back to his book.

The voice that caught his attention was unfamiliar, so you turn in her direction and see a gorgeous girl standing in the kitchen making some food. You quietly ask Natasha, "who- who's the brunette?" "Oh, that's Wanda." You think to yourself, "wow. What a gorgeous name." "Wanda," you say under your breath, but it catches the girl's attention. "Hm?" She says looking up at you. "Oh, uh, hi," you respond, the bottom of your shirt seemingly becoming very interesting as you look down at it and nervously play with it. "Hi," she says with a small wave and a soft smile. "Care to introduce me, Nat?" she says walking towards you. The colour green is barely visible to you now, but you don't notice as it's already so desaturated. "Yeah, of course! This is our new recruit, y/n." "Well, it's lovely to meet you, y/n. I'm Wanda Maximoff." She sticks out her hand for you to shake and you do.

As you pull your hand back to the bottom of your shirt again, you look up at her. You look into her eyes. They look like they have no colour to them like they're completely grey-scaled. She locks eyes with you. Suddenly, the colour of her eyes seems to come to life as they fade up into a vibrant green.

You both stare into each other's eyes as you try to process what just happened. You begin to ask, "are- are you m- my..." You can't seem to get the word out and she begins to ask you, "are you my... my uhhh..." "soulmate?" Natasha chimes in. You both look at her, then back at each other and nod. You gently smile and she smiles back.

"So..." you start, "since you're my soulmate, would you maybe wanna go on a date sometime?" "I like the sound of that, soulmate." She playfully nudges you with her elbow making you both chuckle and your cheeks turn pink. "Did you just lose your girl to the new recruit?" Sam quietly asks Vision. He responds, "it appears she was never meant to be mine in the first place."
