Amy yawned, staring at the box on her coffee table. Her eye twitched and she wanted coffee really badly. But she wouldn't get off her lazy bum. "How unbelievable..." She raised her arm out to the box, "I should be saving my childhood instead of staring at this stupid box!" Amy grunted but half meant it. "Although I am a bit curious..." She sucked in some air through her teeth as she bit down on her bottom lip. Eyes half squinting.
Should I open it? Amy asked herself. Then her phone buzzed beside her. Amy turned her attention towards the noise, ears erected. "What could that be?" She set the glass cup on her coffee table and went to check her phone.
It was a text message from Mephiles. How convenient!
Amy looked over at what he said;Mephy <3
Mephiles: Hi, I wanted to check up on you. Even though it might be early right now,
Mephiles: I had this subconscious feeling that something didn't set right.
Amy: you couldnt have appeared at the right timing!
Mephiles: are you ok? Or too cheery to finally meet me since I'm your friend?
Amy: I can say both. Can I?
Amy: Its just that
Mephiles: its just what?
Amy: remember the old twinkle park?
Mephiles: Oh, the expansions and renovations
Amy: Who told you?
Mephiles: The newspaper and online news.
Amy: I- when?
Mephiles: A few weeks ago
Amy: Why couldn't I have known earlier!
Mephiles: Well its not your fault, Amy..
Mephiles: Technically everyone has moved on from the park besides you
Amy: but love the park! It can't be GONE!
Mephiles: I'm sorry to bring in my opinion
Mephiles: but don't you think this would be for the better? The land could be used to improve and make use of our technology and entertainment for future generations.
Mephiles: and that life may be unfair
Mephiles is typing. . .
Amy stopped looking at her texts. She felt resentment for Mephiles and his words. How could he say all of that?
She clenched her phone in one hand. Her heart beating. Sinking in the desperation that was simply selfish. Amy pinched the bridge of her nose. Resting her phone onto her thigh and sighed. "Actually... how could I say all of that..." The petite girl flashbacked to when she met the man at the park.

."What's the matter with you? It's not like you're gonna die without it being here! Rotting away, unused for ages."
"Look Sir, I'm not trying to sound attached or anything but I LOVE THIS PLACE! IT- it can't be torn down! I made so much memories here!"

.Amy thought she was being self-centered. As if the world only surrounded her... (Author's lovely note: Um- I'm not gonna go into that rabbit hole...)
But the man did respond quite harshly. Darn you... wish I could know your name so I could curse you- jackal man! She grumbled.Amy looked back at the conversation to see a few more texts from Mephiles...
Mephy <3
Mephiles: but if you were willing to change things to see how it goes.
Mephiles: You can file a complaint to the company
Mephiles: of course you need reasons and I know you're intelligent enough to come up with them
Amy: Thanks Mephy, I'll think about it
Mephiles: of course, anything for a friend, I'll be off now
Amy: Bye...
Amy felt that unsettling feeling again... dread? It was something. Something deep within the pits of her stomach. Something that pulled on her heart and messed with her mind. It was something. Amy didn't know what it was. That mysterious feeling. It was always there. She felt the need to hide it from the entire world.
Her hands began to quiver uncontrollably. She wanted to cry again. She felt weak. She felt broken. Like a million pieces of glass. Shattered.Stupid. Stupid. STUPID!
