Another boring day in the office.
Another paperwork needing to be signed.
Another coffee to drink, to sustain my energy.
Another hour longer at the job.
Another mobian being yelled at and fired.
Another phone call.
Another regular, cycling, repeating, never-ending day.
"Good morning." I lipped to the red wolf who nearly pushed me to the side. He seemed to be in a hurry. No matter. I am not affiliated with any of his affairs.
I pull myself to my office chair at the front desk. The other two furiously typing and holding calls everytime the phone rung. It felt like competition at this point.
"Err... what do we even sell?" A rabbit with pink fur leaned over to look at us.
The mobian in between us pushed their comfy, office chair back and then spun to the opposite side to make some more caffeine. "We're doing something- what do you think, Sally?" The wolf sipped his coffee as his tail swayed on his lap.
I stared deeply into my computer, "I wish I knew." I lipped. "But I'm pretty sure it's a cross-trading kind of thing."
"Like from other parts in Asia and so on?" The pink rabbit played with her long, floppy ear, circling in motion with her one index finger.
"Maybe." I furiously tap, tap, tapped.
"I wonder what kind of.. product it is! Like- Russian nest dolls!" The grey wolf commented, looking back at the rabbit with the color of light blush.
"It can't be something that stupid- I wonder if our company is worth millions! Like gold!" She clasped her hands together with blissful greed.
I lifted an eyebrow, "Our boss is literally named 'Gold Desire'."
"Whaaaaaaaaat? Gilt Sate- means Gold Desire? Where did you get that from?" the grey wolf leaned towards me with a hysterical expression.
I tapped the side of my face at this point.
"Pipe it down, Peter!" The rabbit friendly hit him by the arm and rested her head into her hands. "Spill the tea, Salls."
"Well, for one- all I had to do was search up the origin of his name. And as I looked more into it... I found pretty sketch stuff." I would then smirk as I turned my computer towards them, pulling up an article. "It turns out, that in the 1890s, Shikari Sate- and yes thats his name- anyways, he discovered the ancient ruins of Gaialai and had kept it a secret for nearly 30 years but when he had a son- who is, shall I say... Gilt Sate's grandfather."
The article showed an image of a tall husky-like wolf with a bushy mustache and an adventurous look to him. As well as a timid, young news reporter woman- in her early 20s- standing nervously next to Sate's great-grandfather.In the background is an Aztec temple-looking structure; the build is surrounded by huge forest of tropical trees. The stone appears to be carved with some sort of beautiful, mossy marble as sinuous vines spread scattered around the temple. What seemed to be a line if tape that says "POLICE TAPE DO NOT CROSS" makes the picture look obscure and ugly as it is posted in random spots around the Gaialai temple.
The picture is all black and white with a flash in their eyes. The photo must have been taken with a kodak, one of the first camera brand made back in the late 1880s.
"When news broke out about this temple, about 30 days of the following, Shikari Sate died. Some people speculated that his ex-husband must have murdered him. For some odd reason." I would scroll down more with my mouse, which shows the information I was explaining.
"The sources said stuff about Sate's great-grandfather's sour ex escaping to Japan.. bla bla bla- anyways, in Shikari's will he sent his son an ancient artifact from the Gaialai temple... some legends say that the heirloom for this Sate Family line could be piles upon piles of gold!" I paused for a moment, "Or a cursed Gailai artifact."
