"Gerry!" Peter jolted awake, his eyes widening in fright. The humidity of the clouds immediately hit his face, a gleam of shine appearing over his face as he took calming breaths. He was immediately hugged by his lover from behind, feeling a bit calmer because of it. It was amazing feeling her touch against his body, it made him think more clearly and with less fear.
"Uncle Peter, you scared me to death!" Franklin was holding his chest, making Peter chuckle slightly as he watched their surroundings. It didn't take long, because his sight changed their destination. It made him smile to see the fearless Elsa Bloodstone smiling at his son while Gerry was neither awake or asleep, he didn't know just how his son was able to do so but it was definitely a gift.
"Sorry kiddo… It was just a bad dream" Peter whispered, everyone looking at him with sympathetic eyes. He knew that he was not the only one who got these nightmares, as Kamala still dreamt of the day her previous mentor hunted her like a pig. It took Karla almost two hours to calm her down the last time. And he won't even start on the nightmares that Franklin would often have, he always ended up being hit by his nephew's cosmic powers trying to help him.
"We are here, Peter… No one is hurt…" He could hear her whispers, the soft yet teasing voice that had made him fall in love during these uneventful times. He would have never expected to fall in love during this apocalyptic event, but he did and he didn't regret a single thing.
"Just shake it off, mate" Blade's seemingly uncaring comment gained him the glare of Karla, which made Peter sigh slightly. He knew that Blade didn't mean to sound as if he didn't care, Peter knew that this was normal for him. Erik didn't have many connections with others to sound as if he cared for their well being, but the comment was the most that Peter was going to receive from the Daywalker, and he knew it. "Your eyes tell me that you have done this many times…"
"Yeah…" Karla changed her sight towards Peter, her stare softening quite a bit. She kissed his head, offhandedly telling him that she was there for him. She then felt her hand getting slightly squeezed, her slight worried expression changing into a caring one. "I have done so many times now…" Karla knew immediately what it meant. It was safe to say that Peter was the one that gets the most nightmares out of the kids, and herself. She didn't know if Chewie was getting nightmares as well, it was not like she could understand the alien feline that was with them. But she could take a guess with the shivers she could see along the back of the feline when she was sleeping on top of Peter's chest. "I can't even remember how many times I had to act as if nothing happened"
"Then look…" Karla looked at the female hunter, her exotic orange hair seemingly dancing through the wind, her eyes now looking towards the earth. She also deviated her look, feeling Peter doing the same across her chest. She still maintained their one-sided hug, it was making Peter calm down and it was all she needed to also stay calm and collected. She could see many technological buildings, the techno environment reminding her of their kill comrad, Warlock. "The view seems calming enough"
"Wow…" Spider-Man couldn't help but smile at Gerry's amazed expression. His son woke up thanks to Elsa's soft movements, something that he was thankful for. His son was still a child, someone who shouldn't even be living this kind of life. He wanted something better for him. "This is amazing…"
"This is the Phalanx Wall, right?" Kamala's question was barely a whisper, Karla being able to hear her thanks to the closeness between the two, was able to nod at her protegeé. They have never been this close to the wall created by the Phalanx that were habitating on Earth, so seeing it this close and from this angle provided them all with a mystical experience.
"Yes" Karla stated, her eyes roaming through the view before settling her eyes on her lover. Her eyes calmed down slightly, her heart as calm as a river. Being next to Peter was calming, never has she felt like this before, not even when she was in that short relationship with Clint Barton. "Though I am curious as to why are we not being shot down"
