Karla sighed, the dawn reflecting the stars above. The shine that it made was making her feel nostalgic. It has been years since she had been able to just freely stare at them without any sort of fear of being surprised by a Respawn attacking her. It was refreshing, something that she didn’t know she needed to value even more. The short periods of time where she would just relax were gone from her life. But she gained something better, she smiled while glancing at the one who made her heart throb.

She could see just how everyone was positioned on top of the Sentinel, though a bit cramped because of all the people joining their group. She could see Franklin taking care of a sleeping Gerry with Kamala also joining the child on closing her eyes. Valeria and Vivian were spending time together, upgrading one of the many unfinished works of Forge. Elsa Bloodstone was trying not to laugh, both women looking just how the Daywalker acted so normal while caressing Chewie behind her ear. And Peter, who was smiling at everything around them. It made her know that in this short period of time, they had become something more than just a group trying to survive the next day. They created a family.

“There’s a structure on the horizon just ahead, Master Peter” He sighed, nodding to himself. He knew that, sooner or later, their peace would be interrupted. Every stop they seemed to make, the Respawns always seemed to find them. Their refuge all those years back, the X-Mansion, the Ennow’s headquarters, and many other places that they had used as a resting place. So Peter didn’t want to get his hopes up for nothing. He knew that they were going to fight, they just had to be prepared for it.

“Thanks Nana, go in slow, please” Peter’s petition was followed immediately, the speed of their personal Sentinel being reduced quite a bit. He suddenly felt his Spider-Sense flare, though he didn’t act upon it. More times than not, ever since the apocalyptic event started, his senses were betraying him. Either it was because of the constant danger their life suffered, or because it was not a strong reaction. He could care less why his senses weren’t properly, because all he cared about was protecting his loved ones.

“P-Peter…” He looked at the now awake Kamala Khan, a brow up in confusion. It was not often that she would talk directly to him, preferring to speak with Karla first before the blonde woman talked with him. But it didn’t mean that he would not answer her question, if she had one in the first place. He would never say it aloud, but he knew of the closeness between Karla and her student and it made him chuckle a bit. Who would have thought that the cold hearted villain would act just like a mother when put into an apocalyptic event. “What do you think we are going to find there”

“Who’s a good girl?” Before he could answer, Peter glanced with a smirk towards Blade. Erik was seemingly having an amazing time petting Chewie. And it seems that the alien cat was loving it if the purrs of satisfaction could be heard. “You are…” Peter couldn’t help but chuckle softly at that, and he was sure that Elsa was looking at Blade with a huge smirk on her face. It was impending doom for Blade when he got teased about it, Peter was sure. “You’re a good girl”

“That happened…” Peter chuckled sheepishly, before looking at Kamala. It was an instant change, from the happy to the remorseful. Something that he had to do if they all wanted to survive. “In any case, I don’t know…” He answered Kamala’s question. He really didn't know what to expect. For all he knew, the Atlantis Colony could be one of the only places where it was Respawn free; or it could be a huge nest for the undead. "Around the same time they made Space Arks, the Coalition rehabbed Atlantis as a colony for air-breathers" Peter explained. He was not the most knowledgeable person in the group, but he knew the important bits that fit the puzzle. "Communications networks all went down after that, so nobody really knows what happened next… I guess we're about to find out"

And he was almost on point, with Nana nearing the edge of one of the many destroyed ships near the Atlantis Colony. Many of them initially served as a source of barrier against the Respawn but seeing the damage left, it left Peter and the rest of them with little to no hope. Peter looked to the side, looking at Franklin guiding Gerry through the debris.
