Me: Yeaaah! Final chapter of the Spring Festival... *Face meets desk* ...
Shard: Wow. o.o
Thunder: Looks like she's really exhausted.
Shard: This chapter WAS originally a part of the last one, making it 18k.
Thunder: Mm. True. She worked her tail for these chapters. .D. I wish we were in it...
Me: *Loudly snoring, drool dribbling down from the corners of my mouth*
Shard: That's... unattractive.
Thunder: *Puts on a pair of ear muffs* And loud.
Fawn: *Hiding behind a bush in the distance* Psst, Scarlet. Shadow is sleeping.
Scarlet: *Nods quietly*
Fawn: Let's slap her with whip cream. :D
Scarlet: *Nods happily*
Fawn: *Holds up a pan of whip cream* I'm borrowing this from some place called a "grocery store". Hey, now you go find a feather.
Scarlet: *Instantly brings out a feather from seemingly thin air*
Fawn: Hey, where'd you get that?
Scarlet: ...Er...
Skylar: AAAH! WHO IS SO EVIL TO DO THIS TO ME?!
Scarlet: *Squeaks in horror* How does she know? She has so many! *Flinches from the crazed squawking in the distance* Let's hurry!
Fawn: I have a better idea, actually. *Slips the feather into my hands* SKYLAAAAR! SHADOW STOLE YOUR FEATHER!
Skylar: *Heartbeats later, she darts into sight* WHAT-THE-WHAT-WHERE-IS-SHADOW-I'M-GONNA-KILL-HER! *Glances down; dives at me and pecks me like mad*
Me: *Eyes fly open* SKYLAR WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!
Skylar: No one steals my feather and gets away with it! *Rakes her talons across my back*
Fawn: *Calmly walks over and shoves the pan of whip cream into my face* Success. :D
Scarlet: *Quickly and quietly claps her paws* ^-^ Good show.
Fawn's POV
We cheerfully confronted the bubbly palpitoad. With eyes as murky as mud, she displayed a wide smile while those odd, turquoise-black spheres on her head vibrated softly. "Mm? Well, whaddya know!" Instantly, I recognized a thick, drawled accent in the water-type's speech. I was surprised that I didn't notice it when she'd been yelling from far away earlier. "Wan'in' ta try at the Blind Obstacle Challenge, ay? What honeysuckles y'all are! Participants are gatherin' over day'r," she lazily pointed at a small group of Pokémon relaxing beneath a ribbon-decorated willow tree, "so quick as a rapidash now: it'll start in jus' a bit."
Copper and I slow padded under the gloomy willow and observed the area. All the paired competitors seemed to be cubs, pups, kits, and other young Pokémon. This game is exclusively for young Pokémon, huh? Well, I guess that makes sense in a way. This game's probably too silly for grown-ups. I felt relieved that we wouldn't rival against any adults. It would've been a stupidly unfair disadvantage for all the cubs.
Some more duos of young Pokémon walked over and added to our quiet group. The majority of the contestants carried confused and perplexed expressions, most likely because they didn't know what the challenge would be about. Honestly, Copper and I were part of that group; we only knew the game involved teamwork and it most likely had obstacles.
