Chapter 11: Promise

Ky's POV

When I got back to Dre's house she was right where I left her. So that means she hasn't ate or showered. Since my baby is sick I decided to cater to her. Dre's mom and brother won't be home till 9 so that gives me two hours.

First I decided to cook for her. (Yes the kid know how to throw down in that kitchen.) I decided on making her favorite meal. Macaroni, Baked Chicken and some corn. When the food was done I left it on the stove to simmer. I walked back to Dre's room and peeked on her. She still slept peacefully. I went to the bathroom in her room and ran her a bubble bath. I poured the lavender bath beads in and went to wake her up.

"Wake up baby.." I said as I shook her.
"Hmmm" she moaned as she stretched.
"Come on I ran you some bath water."

She still was too weak to move so I undressed her and carried her to the tub. She smiled at me as I sat on the toilet to watch her.

"What?" She whispered with a smile.
"Nothing.. You're beautiful. And amazing. I like you." I blushed
"So are you. And I like you more.." she whispered.
"So how are you feeling?"I asked
"I'm feeling better Thanks to my studdie buddy."

I blushed then told her I'll be back. I went downstairs and fixed us a plate then went back up and for Dre ready for bed. Then I carried her downstairs for dinner.

"You cooked this baby? My favorite food?? " She smiled as she sat in her seat.
"Yes I did. Now eat Miss I'M Sick." I joked

At this dinner I decided to tell Dre'Anna what has been bothering me.

"Dre..."
"Yess?"
"I mustered up enough courage to tell you what's been bothering me."

She stopped eating and her big beautiful brown eyes stared deep into my soul. Her face grew serious as she prepared her self for the worst.

"Wussup Ky? Tell me." She said.
"Lately my mom has been having lots of new boyfriends. They've been taking her out and breaking her heart. And showing up to the house and stuff." I explained
"Okay What's wrong with that?" She asked

I started to cry as I was trying to tell her the story of when I was twelve. As soon as I finished telling her she cried with me. We cried for a while and she told me about her uncle who tried to do that to her too but she escaped.

"It's okay baby. We're gonna get through this together. And we're gonna find a solution to keeping your siblings safe." She said as she wiped her tears.
"Okay baby thanks. And now that I got that off my chest no more tears now close your eyes." I said.

I went in my pocket and pulled out the gift I got for Dre. It was a small velvet box with a gold ribbon tied to it.

"Open" I said as I sat the gift on the table.
"Oh my Gooood... Ky what is it? " she asked ripping through the ribbon.
"It's a promise ring" I told her as I took the box from Her.

I opened it up and placed the ring on her index finger on her right hand.

"Dre'Anna I promise to love you with all my heart. I promise to stay true to you and treat you like my queen." I put my hand over my heart getting really sincere.

A tear fell from her eye and she smiled huge. I got up and kissed her lips.

"I love you Skyanni." She said with a huge smile.
"I know I know. I'm sexy. But I love you too."

"Owwwe! It smells good in here! " Dre's mom said as her and Drevon came through the door.
"I cooked dinner come join us we just started!" I said getting up to fix their plates.

We ate like a family that night. I felt at home. I felt loved. I didn't want this night to end.
