Valentine's Day, the day that celebrates love and lovers. Is there anything wrong with Valentine's Day?

I don't understand why but out of the blue, the school decided to ban everything related to this day.

No gifts, no letters, no dates allowed in the school zone.

But all the school clubs joined together to host a secret Valentine's party and invited everybody.

I wanted to join the fun and decided to drop my crush an anonymous DM with the invitation to the party, although I knew it was a futile attempt.

I dressed to the best of my ability for the night, and then, I received the biggest surprise of my life. It wasn't that my crush happily accepted my invitation or that he asked me to be his date. Oh, How I hoped that it ended just like that.

The moment the girl, in the  blue dress walked in the room, Dave's eyes didn't stop staring at her. Well, she was a very attractive woman, but his eyes weren't full of admiration, it was full of fear.

The girl walked in front of us while Dave slowly dropped his hand from my shoulder. At this point, I began to get hint, what's going on and as heartbreaking as it was, She was Dave's girlfriend, and when asked why she was here, she showed a note that Dave invited her. He acted sweetly with her and introduced me as a friend, whose date shunned her down and that he was keeping me company. Lies.

So, I told her everything, how much of a lie she was in. Then I left the party. It was sad that it ended like that, but What I did was right. When I went back to my car, I found another similar piece of note on the windshield, saying that I did a good job.
