Luke's POV:
"Hey, you busy?" I asked Ashton as I poked my head into his bedroom.

"Not really, what's up?" He asked. I came inside and shut the door before pulling up a chair to where he was sitting on his bed.

"You know I love your sister very much." I started.

"Where are you going with this?"

"And I'm not going to mess things up again. I intend to spend the rest of my life with her." I said.

"I hope your intentions start a little ways down the road like in a few years." Ashton replied." What is this about?"

"I can't imagine what it's like to not grow up with a father but you're like the closest thing to a father to Meghan despite only being her brother." I explained." I don't plan on doing this soon since your big day is coming up but-" I pulled a box out of my pocket and opened it to him and revealed a ring.

"Luke I know we are good friends but I'm already engaged-"

"It's for Meghan." I interrupted him mid joke.

"Are you actually stupid? Like have you gotten to a point in your life where all your ideas are terrible and you are the only person who thinks they're great?" Ashton asked, his tone getting more serious." Meghan just turned eighteen, she's not even out of high school yet. Did you know she's trying to get into med school? That could take so much time out of both of your lives so where will either of you find time to get married?"

"I know she applied and she got in to the UCLA program. She plans on starting school next fall so I'm thinking that if we don't do it then, it'll get out off for possibly years so if she's okay with it, getting married during that summer. Which would also mean proposing soon." I explained." I'm not looking for a long engagement and at this point everyone knows, including Bridget, that Michael is going to propose soon and her Pinterest board is already full so they aren't going to be engaged long-"

"What if she doesn't want a short engagement or even to get married anytime soon?" Ashton asked." And I thought she was taking a year off and then going to UCLA."

"Then I'll say," we'll work it out". And I don't know, she hasn't decided yet. If she takes the year off we can have a long engagement and then she can go to school but I'm not going to run off if it doesn't go my way but I have to at least try." I said.

"Keep talking."

"If we get engaged before she graduates she'll have the at least four months to plan with help from me. If she takes a year off, even better and she has even more time. It's up to her though." I explained." But I'm not going to try without getting your blessing."

"What about my mother's-"

"Already have. She gave it to me last summer when I met her as Meghan's boyfriend." I said cutting him off.

"You're one of my best friends but my family will always be number one in my life so if you're willing to do all of this for her as well as protect her, comfort her, etc, etc then yes you have my blessing." Ashton explained." And don't you dare think about proposing at my wedding; if you do I'll have your baby maker chopped off."

"You got it." I said." Thank you."

"Thank me when she says yes."
