Althea was confused. The person she considered her best friend outside of the hero's life was actually a trained assassin. Wonderful, there really was no escaping their life. Of course, they had trained together but it was more fun and games than training.
Damian was also confused. Hephaestus never had the ability to turn into animals. Who else was free? Is he mad at me also? How long had he been in Gotham? How does he know Althea? Is he her partner? How did he knock Willa out by just touching her head?
Hephaestus was waiting for someone to speak. He had been keeping Willa unconscious until her powers cooled off and it was awkward to be sitting in her living room staring off both Damian and Althea. He knew it was a bad idea to show off his new ability but he needed to calm her down he still didn't understand the blood manipulation but he could do small things.
"How long have you been here Hephaestus?" Damian spoke first. It was awkward he didn't know how to handle it. He did miss Damian but he was wary.
"A day" he looked towards Althea, "We were warned and then both Althea and Raven disappeared we were worried you guys were going to do something. So we came to check up on her." he brushed her hair back "looks like I showed up on time."
"Why didn't you ever tell me about this part of your past?" Althea questioned next hurt at the fact that he kept such a large secret from her.
"It wasn't just my secret" he paused "Exposing my past would have exposed all of us and as much as I care and trust you and Raven, they don't"
"What is Willa doing here in Gotham?" Damian put his hands on his head and sighed.
Before Hephaestus could respond Pretty Savage by BlackPink was heard from Althea's phone.
"Sorry, it's Raven" she answered the phone and placed it on speaker, "Hey Raven, you're on speaker"
"Anything yet?" Raven responded in a hushed tone. She was probably hiding from Bruce.
"Were making progress" she responded "Well Batman just left and I think he's headed in your direction"
"Shit" with that she hung up and Hephaestus picked up his phone.
"What are you doing we have to leave," Damian realized Hephaestus wasn't moving he just waited for someone to answer.
"Freya we need a pick-up now" with that he pulled a pocket mirror out and placed it on the table.
Damian had realized who he was talking about. Freya the mirror traveler. He was never close to her but they had met on a few occasions. Althea knew exactly who it was. Flora, Hephaestus sister. They had met several times but it was a bit awkward. Flora was a wild personality and Althea never knew how to handle her.
