The Rose Garden (The Little Prince x Female!Reader)

The little prince and (YN) play hide and seek in the garden and have a fluffy moment. Also, I apologize that your request took a while to do!

The relationship between you and the prince will be all platonic.

"Prince! HEY WAIT!" 

"Keep up (Y/N)!" 

You ran as far as your legs could keep up with the speedy little prince. "Ha..W-Wait! Ugh..." You wheezed out, taking a short break to regain stamina before running again. You reached the foot of the rose garden all tired and worn out. You saw that your friend was no where in sight. 

You groaned. "Prince! Where are you?" A giggle could be heard from the many bushels of roses. "Come and find me!" 

"Dude! Just come out! I don't want to play!" "That takes out the fun of hide-and-seek! I just ask for one game my friend. Please (Y/N)?" You sighed heavily and pinched the bridge of your nose. Prince wasn't going to stop until you accept his invite. Ultimately making your decision, you called out, "Fine! One game." Your friend let out a happy 'yay' in response. 

You began to search for your interstellar friend in the maze of red flowers that were used mostly for romantic gestures. The Little Prince had come from another world, a tiny world as he would call it, and wanted to explore this kingdom the moment he came here. You had met him in this very desert. He was sitting on one of the dunes, looking at the constellations in the sky. He saw you and commented how beautiful your cape looked. And from that moment on, you two became best buds.     

A chuckle was heard from one of the rose hedges at the far right. You smirked. "Oh where could that mischievous prince be? I simply cannot find him..." You heard another giggle, a little louder this time. "Is he over there? Huh? Ok, not there...Here? No, not that either..." You playfully said, looking between the hedges for your friend. His giggles were getting louder and it was getting harder to muffle them. 

"Found you!" You yelled, finding him crouched with a few glowing flowers. He got startled and jumped backwards, making you laugh. 

"You aren't a very good hider." You teased. The little prince smiled brightly. "I will be a much better seeker in the next round! Now, you go hide!" You turned your heel once he started to count to ten. You found your hiding spot and tried to make yourself smaller so you could conceal better. "Where is she?" You heard him mutter. You smiled under your hands, just in case if you laugh out. 

After a few minutes of seeking, the little prince gave up. "Alright (Y/N)! I give up! Please come out!" You got up and flew to where he was and triumphantly cheered in his face. "I thought you said you'd be a better seeker..?" You joked and ruffled his sun colored hair. The little prince's cheeks flushed and grumbled. But he laughed nonetheless. "I want another game!" He insisted, a competitive look in his eyes. "Hmm, ok! If you say so! But I am going to win!" You said in sing-song voice. 

You two played for about 5 more rounds of hide and seek before deciding to take a break under the gazebo. 

"Well, I suppose you win this game. But I shall beat one day!" The little prince dramatically said, shaking his fist in the air as you giggled at the action. You two gazed at the stars twinkling above you. You always loved stars. You knew they were just great big balls of gas, but there was something more to them that you couldn't explain. Stars were like friends in a way. They were always there with you, up in the sky guiding you. 

You felt your friend shiver against you. Worried, you offered him to go under your cape to provide some warmth. "Really?" He inquired, unsure. All you gave him was a grin. "Yeah, it gets kinda cold in here. And I don't want you to freeze to death while you're visiting. Gives our kingdom a bad reputation than already is from past mistakes, y'know what I mean?" The little prince chuckled at your comment and slid closer to you, sighing in bliss from the warmth you supplied. 

"Do you ever miss anyone?" You paused to think over his question. "I guess. I miss some of my friends. Some I don't even see anymore. What about you?" 

"I miss my Rose." He vaguely answered, looking up dazedly at the stars. "I miss her every moment I'm not there with her." You patted his back gently, feeling sympathy for him. "Hey, I'm sure you'll return to her soon. And once you do, you can tell her all about your adventures here." The little prince looked at you with hopeful eyes and smiled, cuddling up to your side. 

Soon enough, his birds had come to pick him up. You two pulled away and headed over to the flock of birds. 

"I will see you soon (Y/N). Oh! And before I go," The little prince grabbed something from his back and revealed to you a red rose. "Something to remember me by." He fixed it behind your ear. Your fingers ghosted on the petals of the rose, grateful for the gift he gave you. "Thank you." You politely nodded. The little prince held onto the rope and his birds took off. He waved at you happily and you waved back, watching him slowly drift away into the night.
