The Licked Hand

Samantha was a very happy child who lived with her mother, father, and her husky, Rocky. She was a very brave little girl, as long as Rocky was with her.

So when her parents said that she needed to stay home alone while they went on their honeymoon, she wasn't scared one bit.

"Be sure that you lock all the doors and windows okay?" Her mother told her.

"And don't answer the door or the phone," Samantha's father commanded.

"Okay!" Samantha said happily.

As soon as her parents left, Samantha went throughout the house and locked all of the doors and windows, but when she got to the basement, she discovered that the lock on the window was broken. She decided it would be okay if she just closed the window and locked the basement door. She fed Rocky and ate dinner. Not long after eating, Samantha went to bed. Rocky slept next to her on the floor. Eventually, the two drifted off.

Later that night, Samantha woke up to the sound of dripping coming from outside her room. Though the reason was unclear, the sound chilled her to the core. In her efforts to calm down, she stuck her hand out towards the bottom of her bed to find Rocky. She felt Rocky lick her hand and felt much safer. Before she knew it, she drifted off again. But it didn't last long.

Once again, Samantha woke up to the sound of something dripping from outside her room. She tried not to panic and put her hand over the edge of the bed to feel Rocky lick her hand once more. She felt much safer knowing her beloved husky was at her side. She soon fell asleep.

For the third time, Samantha woke to the sound of something dripping outside her room. She was done being afraid. Now she was frustrated.

She got out of bed and opened her bedroom door. The first thing she checked was the kitchen sink to see if it was dripping only to discover it wasn't. So, she decided that the only other reasonable explanation was that it must be coming from the bathroom sink.

She entered the bathroom and the dripping became louder. It sounded like it was coming from behind the shower curtain. Samantha pull the curtain back and was greeted with a horrific sight. Rocky's body was skinned and hanging from the curtain rod. His blood was dripping off of his body and forming a pool in the tub. Samantha backed away in horror, and as she did so, she spotted something out of the corner of her eye. A note was taped to the bathroom mirror in crimson red letters.
