Beautiful Boy

In a village, around the time of the 1800s, lived a man and his wife. They were a poor couple, yet they were very boastful. Every chance they got, they would try to show off.

When the wife became pregnant, she saw it as the perfect opportunity to do so. Everytime the couple was out in the village markets, they were sure to boast about their baby. They told everyone they knew that their baby would perfect.They couldn't have been more wrong.

After their baby boy was born, they noticed that he was very deformed. The preacher at their church told them that deformed babies were a form of punishment for their sins. What would he think if he saw their baby? The entire village would look down upon them. They knew something had to be done, and by nightfall they came up with a solution.

Around midnight when everyone had gone to sleep, the man took his newborn baby boy to the cliff by the beach. He went to the edge, and threw him off as if the baby meant nothing more to him than a bag of trash.

A few months later, the man's wife once again became pregnant. After learning their lesson with their first baby, they realized that they needed to keep their mouths shut.

Nine months later, the woman gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. The couple went right back to their boastful ways and showed off their son whenever they got the chance.

One day, the family went to the beach. The parents held their son's hand tightly. Partly because they wanted everyone they passed to know that he was theirs, and partly because they were nearing the cliff. As the passed by the cliff, their son said something that chilled them to the core.

"Mommy? Daddy? You're not going to throw me over the cliff again, are you?"
