Breathing in the warm, morning August air, Sejin locked the door of his car and gazed at the familiar building. He was finally back from his paternity leave, and he couldn't be any happier. He truly enjoyed working with the boys, and he missed them a lot. He was glad to be back.
As he scanned his ID and opened the front glass doors, he heard the secretary greet him. "Sejin-ssi! It's so nice to see you again!"
"Ah, I wasn't gone for that long, but I agree, it certainly felt like forever," He smiles, walking over to the front desk. The two chattered carefreely, the front desk worker asking about how the kids were and what other things he did while he was gone.
"It was very nice talking to you, but I'm afraid I need to get going to my office now." The manager said bowing slightly.
"Oh, that reminds me," the receptionist spoke up, catching Sejin's attention. "Your substitute manager left some papers on your desk."
"Ah, thanks for informing me," Sejin smiled, impressed by his substitute's efforts. The job was just to watch over the boys and their well-being, it wasn't really a full position. Reports weren't mandatory for the substitute to do, but at least the band had someone competent to watch over them.
He headed towards his office, saying hello to his colleagues as they walked by. After stepping off the elevator, he finally arrived at his office. Home sweet home.
"Excuse me-!" Before Sejin could enter, he heard a gruff voice call out from behind. There was an older looking man speed walking in his direction, looking right at him. Wait—he recognized that man.
"Ah, you're the one who took over for me while I was gone," Sejin realized, and the man nodded affirmatively. "My apologies, what's your name again?"
The man panted a little, a bit winded from speed walking down the hall. "Kang Beomyun, sir."
"Well Beomyun-ssi, it's nice to see you here. I'm hearing a lot of nice things about you, I'm sure you treated my boys well." He complimented, and the elder man chuckled.
"Of course I have! Being able to work for a company like this is an honor, and you'll find that I have done a good job watching them."
"Really now?" Sejin quipped back.
"Well but of course, I can't do a bad job and risk losing my new position here." New position...?
Oh yeah, that's right! Sejin almost forgot about that part of the agreement. There was a promised position for completing the job quite well, albeit lower than the position that they had substituted for, but a position nonetheless. He was sure that Beomyun would fit well here at BigHit Entertainment.
"Ah yes, I almost forgot about that. You should go up and see our CEO regarding that. His secretary should know to let you in." Sejin advised, using his ID to unlock the door. "I'm afraid I have some work to get done before the boys come in, but I'm certain I'll be seeing you around sometime."
They parted ways, Beomyun left for the elevator quite excitedly. Finally, he was back in his office. He looked around at all the familiar knick-knacks, basking in nostalgia. It had only been 3 months, but it had felt like ages.
Sitting down in his rolling desk chair, he noticed a pile of papers held together with paper clips with an assortment of colored sticky notes labeling them. He leaned in to see what they were.
"REPORTS MAY 2018." Ah, these must be the papers that had been left for him to go over. They were all assorted into different stacks, one for each month. He could afford to kill some time, so why not take a look at them. He was excited to see how his boys were doing.
