When he turned 18, he had expected them to at least spare him a glance. Maybe even ask him to join their relationship— or firstly, tell him about it.

But he got nothing.

Why wouldn't they just tell him already?

He'd done what he thought he had to; he worked out more, he began to present himself more masculinely, he even started rejecting their usual cuddles. He did everything to be mature enough for them.

He remembered their harsh words of rejection.

"Should we tell him? This is a big thing—and how would he react if he found out before we told him..."

"He doesn't need to know. He's just turned 17 today, and honestly—what are the odds of him liking boys too? We can tell him when he gets older."

"Yeah, and honestly I don't think he'd really be a good match for us. Don't get me wrong—he's cute. But I don't think he's mature enough, you know?"

Looking at himself in the mirror always brought back that memory. Instead of wallowing, he strove to improve and become up to their standards. He wanted no one else but them.

"I'm going to the gym," Jungkook would call out from the door, hoping that one of his hyungs would notice.

"Okay," was usually the response he got. Frustrating.

When they'd all joke around about relationships, they always managed to hide their own; pretending that they were all 'single'.

"Wow, Jin hyung is such a bachelor, he'd make a great husband."

"Taehyung is so handsome, his future wife is so lucky."

Comments like that were frustrating.

The way they'd all smirk and sneer at their comments, knowing how false they truly were.

He wanted to bring up the question, but there was no good way of doing it. He couldn't just go "Oh hey, heard you were all dating, can I join??", that would be weird.

Alternatively, he wished for something romantic. Something amorous, intimate, like a date. He waited for the day he would hear the question "Jungkook, would you date us?"

Maybe it wouldn't go like that, but more "Would you be ours, Jungkook?"

Or maybe "We love you, and we want you forever, Kookie,"

The inner-fanboy of his heart couldn't handle the suspense, couldn't handle the wait! He needed to know now. Right now.

Days passed.

Months passed.

And the maknae was left with nothing.

"Hey Jungkookie," Taehyung asked one day in the living room, "You have any plans with Yugyeom?"

"Yeah," Jungkook looked up from his phone, "Though it might rain, so we'll probably reschedule for some other time."

"I think you should still go, who knows when we'll get another free-day like this."

"There's an 80% chance of rain today, Taehyungie."

"So? Have fun in the rain or just do something else!"

Jungkook snorted, "It feels like you want me to go more than I want to."

"What do you mean?" Taehyung grew oddly defensive.
