Hello! This was originally meant to be a small work of fiction although it slowly escalated into something much bigger than I had actually imagined. I'm not mad, really. Excuse obvious grammatical errors as this was post-vaccine fever work and fuelled by stress and the motivation to get something out as quickly as possible.
All telephone signals and generated sources of power went bust with the frigid weather. Adam was allured by snowflakes, each possessing their own unique qualities just like that of the humans inhabiting this planet, falling gracefully down to the furniture in James and Adam's back garden. The average man would think he's quite odd, indeed, however 1) Adam was charmed by the mob of snowflakes to have taken any further acknowledgment for the events ongoing, and 2) that's sorta James' thing.
James is a hard worker, Adam understands that. The only point of the day he'd seen James emerge from his prison confinement of a bedroom was when the power cut off and James' computer met him with a black screen.
"Woah, what in the world?" James muttered in a hushed voice. His spine shot shivers, body thudding hard against the back of his desk chair. To no avail did his frantic pattering against the mouse come, only emitting the gentle hums of the mouse's recoil. Owing to the fact his ears were delicately covered by headphones, James hadn't heeded the snow storm until it made his presence felt like a child's puerile tantrum.
Much to his fortune it was not conventionally dark in the room. Easily could he navigate to the door and unlatch it with a click. Adam's tranquil expression contrasted James' foul one. It was sweet, really, how he saw the small joys others did. He also noticed the depressing undertones of works of fiction and articles spread 'round the internet like high school gossip, yet it was important to acknowledge those flaws.
"Glad to see at least someone is enjoying it." James poked fun at the shorter, sitting like a statue as unblemished as the say of it's creation all those years ago. He was pretty.
"It's snow, dude. How could you not enjoy it?" Asked the alleged 'he'.
James could list off several reasons. Saddled with irritated undertones he could quite flawlessly. Yet Adam's childish grin made it hard to blemish the wholesome atmosphere. "I just needed to finish my video, that's all." James' answer was met with a grimace. James shifted uncomfortably. "What?! It's a genuine reason, y'know!"
"How long?" James felt a lead ball drop from within, his stomach churning with the thought. "Jameson, how long have you been animating today?"
"Psh, get if my back, only like...9 hours?" The dreaded look. The one he'd rather be caught dead than meet the gaze of on the receiving end. Adam's disappointment. Just then he felt as though he'd let Adam down in more ways than one.
"If you don't learn to take a break every so often I'll be forcibly cutting our power everyday." Adam retorted. James frowned and shook his head.
"You need to stop worrying so much, I'm fine as it is." James responded grouchily, albeit with slight hesitance.
"I know you are, but if you keep chaining yourself to your desk you're going to get sick. I get it, animations hard, but thats why you have a team of people to help! There's really no other option here, so- do you wanna chill with me until the power comes back on? It'll give you a break."
James pondered, he's being so nice to me. Is this a way to tell me how he feels? That he's worried? "If you're that desperate, then I guess I have no choice now, do I?"
Adam let out a half suppressed giggle at James' subsequent comment. The latter sat down on the tiles where Adam was perched, the cold against his body an unfamiliar sensation. "It'll be colder out there than it is in here, y'know." Adam spoke having became aware of James' reaction to the temperature.
