The time was around 12 pm at the university as Y/N was taking advantage of their lunch time at the cafeteria. The lunch at the institute was not very formal, it wasn't something you had to attend but it was recommended that you do if you would like food. I mean- they made you pay for it of course but Y/N didn't struggle that much with money anyways. You could bring your own food, which is what most people did but Y/N decided that was kind of just.. extra work. Work smarter not harder, they say.
Anywho, They sit down at one of the tables and chow down on their food before their friends, Eleanor and Aoife joined them aswell. "Hey, Y/N!" Aoife called as both they and Eleanor sat down next to Y/N. They continued civil chatting before Y/N was reminded to explain that she actually knew this Archer person to the other two freshmen in college. As Y/N explained, they watched Aoife's and Eleanor's faces suddenly portrayed a feeling of sudden understanding.
"Ooohhh, so you actually do like him!" Eleanor laughed out, receiving a death glance from Y/N. Aoife nodded in response. "Look! I don't like him! He's just so... weird! Like c'mon if you were a scientist you would want to experiment on him right?-" Eleanor's face dropped. "WOOOOAHHH Y/N YOU MIGHT WANNA CALM DOWN THERE!"
"Oi, Shut up! I didn't mean it like that!" Eleanor smirked before going to her own devices. Aoife instead continued talking to Y/N. They both instead changed the topic to how they could all hang out as a friend group some day.
Then, something out of this world happened. Y/N looked back to see, you'll never believe this, Archer looking back at them. Y/N looked at him before quickly glancing away, blush slightly etched across their soft face. Aoife catches onto this quickly, whispering (not well,) to Y/N "that guy over there, right? You should go say hi"
Y/N's stomach dropped at the thought of that. Who knows what that guy could do, I mean, if he was in a fight then he must have been strong enough to start it. After a little bit of encouraging from Aoife though, Y/N was gonna shoot their shot, Y/N got up from the seat. Walked over to him. He noticed he was sitting alone - how unusual. And then Y/N just said a feeble "hello, it's me, Y/N, remember?" Archer looked at them, surprised. "Well, well, well, if it isn't little Y/N here again" he said with a smile, though - it was kind of hard to tell if he meant it in a positive way.
"Yep! So uhhh.. uhm. what are you eating? It's lunch after all," Y/N thought a little small talk would make him bored and he would start talking. To Y/N's annoyances, Archer was a king of keeping secrets.
"It's a cheeseburger, du- are you serious? Can you not see...?" He relied sharply at first before warming his tone. "Oh, uh, well I knew that I was just- hah- uh- you know-" Archer laughed, and lovingly looked at Y/N. "you know, you are actually pretty cute, Y/N."
There went their tolerance for being called cute. Now they were blushing - and it was obvious to tell. "Uh- d-do you really think so?" Archer grinned at them. "Well, why would I lie to YOU, darling!" the only thing Y/N could think at this moment was; of course this guy knows my fucking weaknesses. Of course!
"Hah- thank you.. uh-" Archer then stopped Y/N mid sentence to change the topic. "So uh- have you heard of the new lifelinking technology?" Y/N's eyes widened. "No, I haven't, actually-" suddenly, a ring noise was heard. It was Y/N'a alarm to notify them that lunch time was over - shit! that was embarrassing! "Oh! I'm so so sorry, that was my alarm, uh- I've got to get going now," Archer frowned "awe, can you stay a little longer? You're my only friend I can talk to..." annnd there goes Archer doing the puppy dog eyes. God, it was so hard to resist. Y/N looked at the time before making a sigh sound. "Look, Archer, I have classes I got to go to, alright?"
"Fine, let's talk later though, okay darling? I wanted to talk more about lifelinking!"
"Sure!" Y/N then walked outside the cafeteria before being stopped by their group of friends. They both looked excited "so Y/N, how did it go..? You guys were talking for a while!"
Y/N just glanced at them, blushing and said "I'm dead. In my grave right now. Deceased if you will."
