cw; cursing
—Y/N was laying on the couch of their dorm room. It was a hazy day, the clouds dark and overshadowing. They looked out into window and noticed that instead of being downpour- there wasnt any rain at all. It was just slightly windy. They puffed out. It would probably be best to do my laundry now instead of later.. they thought to themself. They couldn't imagine what the weather could be like later though - probably worse. Best to get it out of the way.
Y/N didn't have a good washing machine at their dorm, so a laundromat just a little away from their dorm had to work. They got up off the couch and grabbed their brown coat before wrapping it around themself. They then grabbed their keys hanging up on a hook and then opened the door outside. They walked foreward a couple steps and then shut and locked their door behind them. The dormitory for the university that Y/N went to was actually kind of.. strange. It worked a lot more like a hotel than a typical dormitory for a school.
Despite this, Y/N didn't mind that much. I mean, they had an okay time at school and had 2 nice friends so really, it wasn't all that bad. Sometimes though... they wish something was different. I mean, they were proud and happy for the life they had now and they didn't mind if it never changed but... gah. Something felt just out of reach. Maybe it was just the paranoia thoughts again, who knows! They continued down the long steps of the dormitory until after a couple minutes they reached the bottom. They then walked over to the main exit after remembering to pick up one of the extra umbrellas the college supplied at the main floor.
They quickly speed-walked to the laundromat. Time seemed to go slower every 20 or so steps they took, but they continued either way. When they entered the building, they noticed it was... peculiarity empty. About... 9 customers at most. One of the customers caught Y/N's eye. A tall creature.. Y/N didn't know what the hell the creature was. They had horns, strange ears, a crooked left eye, wings, a tail, and strange deer like legs and god knows what else. Seriously, what the fuck has this eccentric looking fella done to look like this? Did they always look like this? Why were they here? Are they an alien? This question made Y/N curious.
So curious, in fact, they wanted to just go up and talk to them. I can't right now, I have clothes to wash Y/N took the washing machine just across from this mysterious guy. Well, assuming they were a guy. They looked mostly like a guy. Anyhow, they continued the washing like normal, trying to stay calm but for some reason, they so badly wanted to at least say hi to the creature they just saw. After some time passed, they finished their load. Around the same time, the unknown species also finished their load and was just about to leave. In a state of excitement and also curiosity, they quickly grabbed their bag of newly washed clothes and called out to the guy they were so interested in. "Hey! Uh-" The guy turned to face them, his left pupil bouncing around with him. God, what a funky little guy he was. He said nothing however, just stared. "Hey uhm, I just wanted to say.. uhhhhh-"
"Are you gonna actually... say something useful or..?" He replies sharply. Well shit. Ouch. This guy was mean. "Eh? Sorry- I uh- I am Y/N. What's your name?"
"Alright, well sweetie I would love to talk but Im running a bit late" he says while looking down at his nonexistent watch. Y/N's expression just looks taken aback for a good while. The man then turns his head around and begins walking out. Quickly, you come up with something to get him stay for a bit longer. "Hey, c'mon, I at least want your name!"He doesn't even turn around before replying. "Archer. My name is Archer." He then finally walked out the building, leaving without another word.
