cw: cursing, Archer being himself, angst, like woah a lot of angst, Y/N goes into disassociation mode, lots of self projecting LOL, and that's about it

Archer's eyes seemed to stare into yours. Even when he looked distracted, his stare made you feel transparent. Many people would feel feared... but Y/N enjoyed him doing so. It made Y/N feel like they were cared about. And hell, they were.
"Yeah?" You replied, wondering what part of earlier Archer was gonna bring up. "What you did was the right thing, ya know. Those friends? Something about them, they seemed... controlling." Y/N nodded hesitantly. "It's just that..." Y/N started. "I'm just- Yknow-" Archer noticed Y/N's hesitance, and smirked. "You know, darling, I don't bite...."Y/N glanced back at Archer. "...haha, well quite literally..." Archer's face remained the same. "Tell me, what's up, Y/N?" Archer grasped Y/N's hand with his. "I'm.. glad you're here with me, Yknow." Archer then grabbed both their hands, and gave both of them a little kiss. Well. Shit! Wow. "Eh- that was unexpected.." Archer laughed. "Haha, that's what people like about me!"
Y/N couldn't agree more.

the day was Friday. Amazing, right? Archer invited Y/N to hang out for a bit after classes on Friday. Y/N's heart pounded at the thought of it. Honestly, Y/n knew at this point that Archer loved them, and Y/N loved him back, it just made Y/N happy that Archer, their savior, approved of them. Hell, Y/N knew they were being extreme about this, but who cares, you know? He was all Y/N had anyways, their friends hated them at the minute, their grades were... mediocre, and their apathy for life seemed to grow.
Outside of the campus, there was this beautiful, big tree. Archer said that under the tree was a calm and dark shade. Y/N wasn't outside a bunch, so they had never taken too much attention to the tree. As Y/N was making their way down to the tree they noticed the bite mark was still there. They evilly, sadistically smiled. This is what their friends got mad at them for, huh?! The memories were all too real in Y/N's head.
...moving on, Y/N finally ended up at the tree and waved at Archer, who stood, putting his hand over his eyes. "Hey, Archer!" Archer nodded "Well hello, Y/N!" Y/N smiled. Archer sat down on the soft, float grass, motioning for Y/N to come sit as well. They walked over, sitting down next to Archer, their head against the tree. Archer then took Y/N's hand in his. "Man, these past couple weeks sure have been great, right?" Y/N smiled at the small gesture. "Yeah, It's uh-" their mind flickered back to their friends. They wanted to say they missed them and kind of.. regre- you know what, no. It was too late for regret. It didn't matter anymore.
"It's pretty good." Archer nodded. "Nice..." Y/N suddenly got a strange mix of thoughts.. all that time ago, the bite mark- no- before it- their goal.
Their goal, do you remember...?
Ohh, you must remember, right?
.
Y/N's life was always so... dull. Sure, it was exciting sometimes, but... something was missing. Even before they met Archer. Was it Archer all along? Why was Y/N acting so.... Selfish and.. obsessive?... what did Archer do for th-
that's ridiculous though, right? He was their love, he was... he was......
...
What even was he anyways. Where did he come from, and... why the hell did Y/N chose to talk to him that one day at the laundromat.
...
Sometimes Y/N wished they didn't ask so many questions.
Especially about Archer, someone they tried so much to please, and for what?! For FUCKING what? Power? Validation?
...
.
It was probably the latter. Y/N also wished they had people that supported them, not give them backhanded compliments.
They wished it was 'good job! You did great!' Instead of 'good start, but try fixing that'
They wished it was 'you look pretty today' instead of silence and ignorance to their appearance.Maybe that's what Y/N thought Archer provided them. They wished they knew.
.
So many wishes, and yet...... not enough time.
For anything.
...
It was then that Y/N realized they were staring at absolutely nothing, reality fading away in those moments. They were like that for atleast... a minute. They looked up. Archer was.... He was... staring at them. The lovable face they knew before looked like a void to them now. "Hey, Y/N? Y/N, darling?... uh-"
"......Archer?" Y/N innocently asks, tears forming at their eyes.
"Yes?"
"Im- Are- Did yo-" all Y/N got out was incomprehensible muttering before the sounds of muffled sobbing.
"Y/N?? What's the matter? Are you okay?"
...
At that point it kind of clicked in their mind....
Lifelinking. The bite. Archer.
.
What were they gonna do?
More importantly,
How the FUCK was Y/N gonna get out this mess.
