E.1. Nightmare

"I am sorry, it's too late for an abortion. If we abort the baby now, it can prove fatal for your life as well.", The doctor said.

"I don't mind if it's fatal or not. All I want is this baby to be out of my body. I am ready to risk my life but I don't want to bear this child any more.", She said adamantly.

"I told you that we can't. If something happens to you, then our entire hospital will have to be shut down.", The doctor rejects.

"Doctor please. Try and understand. I am ready to sign a consent form that I would be solely responsible for any consequences arising out of this operation. Please doctor. I will pay you a huge amount for this operation. Please.", She begged.

Sidharth barged into the clinic.

"Sampada.. what's going on here?", He yelled.

"Huh? You!", She looked at him in shock.

"Yes, I heard your whole conversation hiding behind the door. How could you be so cruel to kill the little baby who is still unborn? I won't allow this to happen. If you don't want, than I will take care of the baby alone but I won't allow you to harm the baby.", He scolds.

"I am the mother, I have the rights to choose what I want.", Sampada revolts.

"Wrong! You only have rights to give birth not to kill. Doctor if you try to kill the baby then I will sue you and see to it that you won't be able to practice your entire life. Your licence will be revoked and your reputation will go down gutter.", He warns.

"Sorry, Mrs. Sampada. We can't help you in anyway. Please leave and never return to this clinic again.", The doctor warns.

Sidharth holds her wrist and pulls her with him to his car.

"Leave my hand please.", She begged but he doesn't.

"Shut up and sit down inside the car.", He said sternly.

"She quietly sat down, he buckles her seat belt and starts driving.

There was a complete silence in the car as he drove. The sun had already set and darkness had overtaken. He was driving very carefully since she was an expecting mother. As they drove through a secluded area, another car in the opposite direction with high beam moved infront of his car in a bizarre way. To save the cars from collision, Sidharth tried maneuvering his car and taking diversion..

(Baby crying sound)

Sidharth sat up straight in his bed. He was sweating profusely and his heartbeats were irregular and loud. He looked at the cradle and sighed. Wiping his sweat beads on his forehead, he went and picked up the little bub who was a crying mess. She was all red due to crying. He hugged her close to his body.

"It's okay sweetheart, it's okay. I am with you. I love you bubba..", he said rocking her against his chest. Though she was crying for her feed, all Sidharth thought was about the nightmare which he witnessed. He was the one who needed a warm hug to calm himself but since he had none to give it, he hugged the little infant who was so tiny that she would be lost in his huge arms. The baby was still crying hence he wiped off a lone tear in his eyes and went on to make a formula milk for her.

He held the baby carefully in his arm, before pushing the tiny nipple of the feeding bottle into her tiny mouth. She sucked it greedily to quench her hunger. He trembled in fear, when the baby coughed due choking on milk. He pulled out the nipple from her mouth and patted her back slowly to make her feel better, post which she resumed crying as she wanted the feed. He fed the baby until she denied to take any more of it.
