【BAD LUCK】
Kate was dead the next day, and a part of Leon had died with him.The naive part of him was gone. The youthful part that thought of himself as a hero, as if he would live through his own Odyssey. No, Leon was no hero, but Kace was. He was probably the last good man on earth. An honest, loyal man, who would rather die than betray those he loved.
Leon was simply Telegonus. The unwitting, ignorant son who shared the same poisonous blood as his witch mother Circe. His blood which infected everything around him. He, Leon, who killed Kace.
His death was announced that morning. Everyone in the compound was forced out of their bedrooms and into the meeting hall, including Leon and Lina, who had been feverishly packing up everything they owned. Where are we going? She asked. Away. For a couple days. He told her. Like a vacation.
The hall was filled with suspicious murmurs. People glanced back and forth one another, apprehensive of what was to come. The Joker stood above them all on the balcony, while his goons were placed around the room.
"Leon, what's happening?" Lina's bottom lip trembled, squeezing her brother's hand as she noticed Kace was not in sight.
"Whatever happens, you stay by my side, understand? Never leave each other. Promise." He told her sternly.
"I'm scared Leon." Her voice was barely audible. Leon clung to her hand and scanned the room with his eyes, looking for an escape, but there were goons blocking all exit ways. They were trapped, and he knew it.
Everything else faded away as he locked eyes with the green haired devil himself. The ivory painted skin around his mouth split as his crimson lips twisted upwards into a wicked smile, baring a fragment of his yellowed teeth. The Joker's eyes flickered to Lina, before landing on Leon again. He winked, and bit his lip to prevent a fit of laughter, instead giggling madly, shaking his head.
Leon felt his body go numb. He couldn't feel his heartbeat, and forgot how to breathe. Checking his pocket frantically, he thanked all the powers above that he brought his phone with him. Whether the Joker could see him or not, he didn't care. As quickly as he could, he sent a message to Bruce. Joker's here. He knows. He's gonna kill us. Hurry, please.
"Alright, alright. Calm down, cool it, all of you- Shut up!" The Joker shouted over everyone. The crowd fell silent at his scolding. "That's more like it." He grinned, and began his speech.
"Hello, my loyal subjects. It had recently come to my attention that there was a rat in our midst. A dirty, stinking rat, who decided a life on top was better than their family down below. And I was heartbroken. After everything I'd done for them. To betray me like that? Well, what a cowardly thing to do.
