Ava's revenge

When we launched the invasion, the Immortals are not prepared. Having kept the same schedule for years, we planned the attack during a slave trade. This allowed us to take down more of the despicable organization. We recruited other packs, friends of Liams, and others who had missing family members desperate to find them alive amongst those being traded. The battle did not last long. The swamps gave Grayson a false sense of security. He and his men over the years became complacent, sloppy, and slow. The slaves turned on their captures, blood covered every inch of the area the slaves were being traded. Soon, the family began searching for each other. A plan was quickly formed to gather at Liam’s pack, a messenger sent back to begin preparing for our return. Liam was busy rounding up the alphas, who surrendered. I slipped away, knowing exactly where Grayson would have gone to hide. His cowardly nature never surprised me. The house was empty except for Grayson. Locked away in the hollowed out walls, a flawed attempt to avoid detection. My wolf easily found his revolting odor behind them. I shifted to my human for wanting Grayson to know exactly who he was up against.
My hand punctured the wall with ease, my strength far passing my expectations once my recovery was made. I clench Grayson’s throat in my hand. Startled, but he still attempts to intimidate his attacker by bursting through the drywall. I stumbled back. When our eyes connected and the realization hit him, the fury in his eyes was evident. Yet an evil grin spread across his face.

“Look who came home. You miss me that much, Ava? I always knew you enjoyed being controlled. Now come, be a good girl.” Grayson stepped closer, attempting to control me once more. “It is time I bred you like the dog you are.” His words sent rage to every cell in my body. I launched myself at him, punching and clawing at anything I can touch. He had played on my emotions, tilting me off guard. My rage consumed me. I did not see the hit coming. He knocked me to the floor, my head spinning, blood spilling from my temple. My inner beat scratching inside my skin to be let out. My claws extend and my bones twist, suddenly a sharp pain is pricking my leg. My transformation halts, a sedative creeps through my system. I become sluggish. I was foolish to allow my anger to get the better of me. Grayson laughs sadistically.

“Oh, you found some spunk while you were away, did you? I know just the thing to fix that.”
Grayson drags me by my leg, tossing my limp body on the bed. My head swimming, the overwhelming weakness will soon take me under. Grayson uses his claws to rip through my clothing, leaving my body exposed.

“It is time you remembered, girl, who you belong to.” At first, I thought the gods had granted my wish to die rather than let him defile me. A monstrous roar leaves my ears ringing. The weight of Grayson’s body is no longer on top of me. My vision is going in and out from the vile concoction I was injected with. Before I slip under the sparks dance on my lip. Liam's voice muffled begs me to stay awake.
My vision slowly comes back, the sounds no longer suppressed. My body is being carried.

“Well, look who is up. Did you have a nice nap?” Groggy still, I blink, trying to focus my eyes.

“He didn’t…” my words cut off. Liam’s tone morphed along with his expression.

“No, and you never have to worry about him again.”

“Liam, thank you for protecting me.” Liam kisses my head. “I always will, Kitten.”
